Just got my new N-fab step bars. They look good but I am disappointed to see the ends are open. I see a potential rust problem with all the salt and brine used on the roads here in PA.

Are they this way on purpose to help prevent rust?(air flow) If not any suggestions on sealing them?

My NFAB step bars have plastic end caps. Maybe, they forgot to put them on your bars. Contact them.

There should be a sealed bag in the box holding the end caps. That's how mine arrived.

NFab is a great company to deal with. Purchased a used set of steps with one cap missing. I email them and they sent a new set of 4 end caps and decal with no questions asked.

I'll buy them from you if you will ship them! Of course, they'd have to be pretty cheap cause I'd have to refinish them. :D

If you get the caps put them in with phenoseal or something - mine fell out on the road somewhere.

Thanks for the responses. I called N-fab and they said that they are not shipping the 3 inch bars with end caps anymore. They said that they found that it was better to let them breath than to have moisture trapped in there. Time will tell.

bludweiaer that sucks. I'm in PA too and hope mine don't end up like that. Again time will tell.

My N Fab bars are less than 8 months old and rusting. N Fab said the bars where damaged and won't honor the warranty. Be careful before you buy from this manufacturer

It sounds like I don't won't to buy this brand of nerf bars. I live in Pa. Too and the stuff they put down on the roads in the winter will eat them up. Unless you have them coated with LineX. Maybe that will protect them.
