I thought the same, I like the small DB logo on the bottom right.

Would it not have been easier to just remove the Grille and paint it away from the truck, I made a terrible mistake by touching up my nerf bars before putting them on my truck and I got overspray all over the truck, took me 2 days to clean it all up, I didn't realize there was any overspray until I ran my hand over the body and didn't feel that smooth silky touch anymore. Your truck looks great, good job.

Did you paint it because you cant get a gloss plasti dip, I'm just curious how the paint will hold up against plasti dip, which will last longer.?

Taking off the grill is ok.

The Krylon is satin black (just looks shiny in the pic because my outside garage lights were on). I could have used the flat Fusion color as well.

I have no comparison data on the durability of the Krylon paint vs. Plastidip. I painted a gen2 chrome grill with same process and nearly zero chips in 3 years

just finished with logo & bezel blackout. used plasti-dip, about 5 coats and that's it.

I wanted to make sure I like the look so as soon as it starts to peel( I did not sand, only cleaned)
I'll sand & paint it for good. Very Happy with the look!

I actually like this look more than any other aftermarket grille option I've seen. I'll be doing this to my stock grille now.

I really like the DB Customz grille but OMG! that is expensive.

Im not going to lie to you, they are a little on the high end. Most of the industry are using a thinner gauge steel using a plasma table or companies buying huge sheets of flimsy expandable metal cutting to size. We use heavier duty / non flimsy metal. There also waterjet-cut and double coated / Teflon infused powdercoated with a 3yr Warranty...Danny

I feel the same way and looked at this grill as well as the other one being sold on TW and even with both of them being badazz I ended up ordering Iron Cross HD steps instead for almost half the cost of these and I will get more use out of the steps. The DB grill and the BAMF grill are my favorite but overpriced for something that is cosmetic so I will be jumping on the plastidip bandwagon when I get home from this deployment.

I love the @DBCustomzFab grille with the light cut outs. I know everyone else is saying the same thing but as a broke college kid just barely starting his new job there is no way i could afford this. I dont know if you make deals to get the name out there or give aways but ya. Id love to have one but the money isnt there. especially since you could buy a pair of rock sliders for what the grille cost. guess ill just have to make mine out of cardboard or something unless youre throwing sponsorship out lol

I agree, anything over $400 for a simple grill just does not make sense financially. Now over $500…that's just plain ridiculous.

Mannys - I apologize for resurrecting an old thread, but I truly appreciate the pic of your grille . . . allow me to ask a few questions -
    1) After a year now, how is the grille paint holding up ? Have you had to touch it up at all ? . . . I would assume with you being in TX, your truck might get sandblasted as your driving (same as I would up here during NH winters).
    2) Curious about the 400 grit sandpaper "scuffing" - How did you only scuff the areas you wanted to paint (lots of nooks & crannies in painted area), and how did you clean the scuffed areas prior to priming/painting ?

I agree with you about too much chrome on the Sport grille, especially on my dark gray 2017 . . . . if need be, I will ask you to contact me "offline" of the forum, as I would like to do the same to my grille.
