Well what can I say .switched from chevy back in 87. Kept that old extra cab toy for 15 1/2 yrs .traded it for a 97 used. my first Tacoma same extra cab again. Now the 2.7b is leaking anti freeze into the #1 cyl, so I bought a 2002 TRD Extra cab .while I try to find another engine for the 97 .the 97 is twice the truck . the 2002 has more rust problem thinner skin .Both had the frames inspected. but my 97 is still like new. I'm pushing 65 with a trashed back from a head on in a CJ yrs back so no really rough off roading anymore. right now i'm just going broke trying to get this 2002 TRD up to snuff. Then I can take the kayak and go flyi fishing. (for CARP) real fun there. Married since I was 28 to the same woman who manages to put up with me some how .Hope some you young and old bucks can help me with my 2002 projects as I run into murphy. Seems lately he and I have become friends ---OldBoysToys -OBT

Thanks hope your right used to do all my work myself ,health issues don't allow it anymore .I don't have a full tank of gas thru this tk. the gas gauge sending unit acted up, the EVAP CEL came on, shocks are all rusted and shot ,tried to get the bolts out of the frt tow hooks to mt my brackets for the brush guards and even after three days of soaking 3 of 4 twisted off.. It was inspected in March. the shocks alone should have failed. I read where a guy had the rear end rust thru. WTHeck this one had a lot of the paint blistering on the rear. I've been hard core Toyota ever since 87 ,but something not right. Back then they tested stuff 5 yrs b/4 marketing . I don't like any of the new stuff. too many gadgets etc and they all look alike. Like I don't need a $100 valve stem to tell me to ck my air. I spent 4 months looking for another good 97 . Where did they all go ? Bad frames? Can't even find a good used engine.~~OBT
