I am an olde faht, driver of my 6th and final Tacoma, a Glacial White SR access cab 4x4, 2019. The only vehicle better than my Tacomas was my VW Eurovan, which I miss.

Army vet, extreme sports enthusiast (kite-powered landsailing, mostly in the Mojave, on dry lakes), avid fan of all things kite.

I have lived in Tacomas, in the desert, with various mods, gadgets, tent and bed cap solutions, crazy friends and crazier enemies, and always testing the gods of wind. Mostly Kaze, the Japanese wind god, from which Kamikazes (Divine Wind) came.

I was logged on the internet when there were about 7 of us in the U.S., lol!

So there ya have it, I'm here, new Taco, lots of mods to consider!

I am awaiting an intermittent wiper switch (seriously, Toyota, not standard?) Sheesh, my last Taco came with a cassette player, and they offered me CD for a mere 600 bucks!

Ennyhoo, my only buyer's remorse is the base Entune radio with no navigation. Has backup camera, maybe NAV only in reverse? :)

What solutions for putting my Google Maps on the radio display?
Anyone using the Scout app? Any advice appreciated!

Keep on truckin', life sucks without Tacos!

    Welcome aboard!

You’re better off without the NAV. It is not terrible if you plan your trip in advance but heaven forbid you ever want to be spontaneous and enter a new destination on the fly. I haven’t seen an aftermarket solution that I like yet so I plan to just mount my phone more permanently. If you don’t want to use your phone data I would consider a Garmin if you can get a good deal or something.

For searching the insane amount of data here, google is your friend, much better than using the forum tools:

    Hi, welcome!

Well this an unorthodox idea but if you need something larger than an iPhone get an iPad, either mini or full-size, and mount it on the dash. You can either get a streaming plan for the iPad or tether it to your phone.
