Haha. Icon RXTs, Deavers, All-Pros are all race parts and there is very little feedback on them squeeking. Dakar’s are notoriously squeaky that is why I ask the question. I have my RXTs on now and no squeeking so far. My Dakar’s had already started squeeking at this point. Not all race parts make noises. And an answer like that provides no valuable information or feedback.

Really? Feedback was they are squeaky at times, but you apparently knew that already. Stick with your RXTs, but they sag quickly.
I’ll take a little noise. It’s a matter of preference and priorities.

I have a 3rd with medium load spring. No squeak. Bought from Headstrong and lube the bushings on on install. Have about 6,000 miles so far

I have experience with old genreration not the new, that’s why I am asking. Have you seen RXTs sag quick? I know guys running them with full bedracks and RTTs for over a year with no noticeable sagging.

If it feels fine and no vibes, don’t add shims.

so with the 3rd gen you get 2” of lift with 660lbs right, but what’s the height with no weight in the back on these with the medium duty pack?

not towing or carrying weight in the back, just lookin for a leaf pack that’ll get me up 2-3” in the back to pair with a 3” lift up front...

Great video dude. Watching this at work and literally laughed my ass off at the 6:16 mark.

I just bought the TRD Pro kit from a member on here, and from what I've gathered it's best to avoid an AAL. 2012 DCSB with a cap on it. I occasionally tow a camper, but it's 13' long and weighs 900#. With just the cap on there would the standard duty EL095's be alright?

I have the newer Dakar standard pack installed with standard 5100s. Should I be using the extended b110 shocks from bilstein? Mild offroad fun a few times a year. I have the extended shocks in my garage. I understand I'll need new bumpstops and extended brake lines

It’s worth it, yes. Also you should swap out the bushings in your stock shackle for polyurethane ones. The oem bushing likes to bind and pop when forced out.

    This is dakars and b110

Now that's how you flex it! Nice video. I'm gonna have to get all my stuff installed. I actually have the wheelers bump stops in my garage too. Just need brake lines and the new bushings you mentioned

My rear shocks are limiting the articulation of my Tacoma and I'm researching replacements. Currently the truck has CS047R rear springs, a u-bolt flip with Superbumps, and extended rear brake lines. With this setup I measured a maximum shock length of 27.5" at full droop, and a minimum length of 16.3" if the bumpstop was full compressed (not likely to happen).

The B110s are 16.34" compressed and 27.28" extended, so they are almost perfect for this use. I've been looking for other options, but there don't seem to be many other longer rear shocks that mount in the factory location. The King and Fox shocks are only about 24.5" long. Icon's extended length shocks (ex. CB2036) are 15.9-26.5" which is closer, but would still limit rear travel by about 1" at the shock.

    - Is anybody aware of other good shock options to fully utilize the flex of the Dakar springs?

    - What front shocks are you running with the B110s? The 5100s and 6112s seem like good matches. Give, that the Bilsteins are digressive I wonder if Icon coilovers would have a similar damping curve?

    Thanks

For the people that installed leaf liners into the new Dakars, did you leave the steel shims in the packs, or remove them when you installed the poly leaf liner?

What is everyone running as far as bump stops? About 500 lbs constant load with the HD pack and shims. I was considering the timbren off road bumps for the occasional load I would add on top of the constant load.

If you’re looking for bump stops to add weight carrying capacity, look at sumo springs.

My constant load is a little below the Dakar HDs rated load capacity. How would ride quality be with a HD leaf pack?

It’d be fine. I’m a bit under load as well and the rear rides fine. If you’re just looking for nice bump stops then timbrens or wheelers super bumps are a nice option. If you’re looking for extra weight capacity, then go sumo springs.

It sounds like just some nice bumps would work well for you.

I'm on the fence and I can see the benefit of both options. On the one hand, I have my truck loaded out some times and could use the extra carrying capacity. On the other, I still want the off road ride when I'm not weighed down.

What rate sumos do you have? Looks like I have a few options but have no idea what would work.

I don’t, I’m running some cheap $30 daystar bump stops.

Sorry, I though since you mentioned being under weight as well, we were talking about your setup.

I want to keep things the height they are but add camping gear and bike on the hitch carrier without sagging. I guess I'll see what distance I'm at once the bed bars are done.

Thank for the recommendation. I'll check them out.
