It will settle, I brought some stuff home last week again, nose in the air. I will deal with it when unloaded

@LostHusker you running the HDs? How much lift did they give you? Ive read the 3rd gens get 3/4" less lift with the same springs

I’d also recommend the HD. Yes the kings will essentially act as limiting straps but they will on the MD duty as well. And you bring up a good point of just removing a leaf if you want later on. Gives you more flexibility from the start.

No these are the ones I’m getting from Matt next weekend, he is getting my standard set. I forget how much lift I got, would need to look back in my repository of useless information in my thread

Ohhh gotcha, alright, i think id be crazy not to go with the HDs from the start. My truck is heavy. I may get lucky and not have to fool with it.. if not, removing a leaf shouldnt be too bad

Just installed the HD Leaf pack with 5125 and 3* axle shims. (No CB drop)

First test drive. WOW! this is a sweet rear set up!! It’s super smooth over the pothole riddled California roads. Perfect pairing for my 2.5 Fox and JBA front setup.

Didn’t feel any driveshaft vibrations. But will need todo more testing and will need to measure my working pinions.

So after 500+ miles and multiple shim adjustments I have axle wrap from 3mph to shifting into 2nd gear. Anyone else super surprised that a “heavy duty” leaf pack would have wrap?

If someone has solved this problem, please share!! I know a traction bar will help...

No other vibration with my set up. Just axle wrap in first gear.

Yup, surprised. I have OME EL096R HD (7 leaf) with 3.5” lift running 265/65r17 BFGs on Methods @ 83lbs a corner. No wrap.

Check your u bolt tq or it may be prop shaft to pinion angle causing take off vibe. Pinion shim to correct?

Same leaf pack and tire size as you. U bolts torqued down and have rechecked a couple times. I started with 3 degree shims and started milling them down .25* at a time trying to find a sweet spot. Adjust cb to keep my working angles equal.

Once I got under 1.75* degree shims I started having vibration during highway driving. So I milled another set of 3* shims. 2.75*-3.00* feel the best overall for hd Dakars. Just have a minor vibe in first gear.

What are you using? Shim wise. Also did you do the u bolt flip? That was going to be my next test.

I had 2.5* with 2” lift but went to 4* when I went to 3.5” lift to get rid of the minor annoying takeoff shudder. I also have to CB drop installed. I didn’t flip my u bolts because I already had Wheeler Superbumps that I didn’t want to mod or replace.

I recently had an AAL snap on my passenger side leaf and I am now considering two options for fixing it. I currently have a 1.5inch lift in the front with AAL in the rear. I am considering upgrading to the OME EL095R springs instead of just replacing the AAL, but I was wondering if these springs were too high for my truck. I almost never tow or have excessive weight in the rear of the truck, but I do have a heavy front bumper, as well as an, ARE MX topper. I have also seemed to have axel wrap problems with my current setup. My question is, should I just replace the AAL pack and be done with it, or should I upgrade to the OME springs (or will they be too tall)? I was recommended the Skyjacker leaf spring pack, but I haven't heard much about them. Thanks in advance!

Anyone know why I can't make order for some shims with headstrong?? Says not taking orders at this time. Any recommendation for a 3 degree shim kit in an ome heavy duty leaf pack?

Yeah they do but it seems they now only have the aluminum, I've read many times to inmy use steel but I'm having no luck finding steel ones.

I wouldn't worry about it. I know a lot of people that use aluminum ones with no issue. Plus then you don't have to worry about corrosion. Only time I'd want steel vs aluminum shims is if you have a whole lot of weight in the back (800lb+) regularly.

@ToytecLifts has them too. I believe they recommend the zink ones for Dakars. The steel requires drilling.
3 degree steel You choose angle zink
