Exactly, a veiled threat. Let's wait to see how this plays out at TMNA first before costing ourselves even more money.

What happened when you lowered the air pressure in your tires to get exactly the same stock height?

The difference between 265/70r16 and 285/70r16 is a nominal 1.1" or 28 mm. That's considerably more than a couple of mm you stated earlier. However I do agree with you that your dealer's stance and TMNA stance on this issue where it concerns you is ridiculous.

    1.1 inches, divided by two...
The difference between a couple of mm and 14mm is just a couple mm.

I'm stating the nominal overall difference between tires. And 28 mm divided by 2 minus 2mm equals 12mm not just "a couple mm". And further more I was AGREEING with Ray1989 that it was ridiculous.

Why not just ignore this recall for a time until stuff settles in? I am curious why people are in a such a rush to take their trucks to Toyota when Toyota has their head in their ars's about this recall.

Because in this day and age people want something to be upset about. My VIN shows that it's under the recall. My TSS works just fine. My truck 100% stock. I would have no problems getting the 'fix'. I'm not going to bother with it until it's convenient for me. There's no reason to do so otherwise. People are just getting themselves worked up into a lather over this. Folks need to have a bit of patience. TMNA will likely come up with a solution that meets their needs, the dealer's needs, and most of the consumers wants if the consumer would just be patient. It's not like the truck is going to spontaneously combust tomorrow if the TSS quits working.

I don't know about everyone else but I have a 3 inch lift and I shoved 285/75/17s underneath. so yeah from a standpoint of it won't work as designed because of the parameters within the computer I understand. but this is a safety recall. I just want to not have my truck lock up the brakes while driving. I'm on the recall and have had the PCS system alert me falsely 2x now. As for getting the letter in the mail from toyota, that does not state anywhere in it that us deciding to modify our vehicles will exempt us from being able to participate in this recall. and the meme I posted earlier said that it wasn't recommend which hopefully means they will have a fix for lifted vehicles later.

It has rained a lot here in So Cal as well. I had issues with the TSS when it would rain. I'm stock with the oem mesh grill. Since buying the truck, the TSS has saved me from rear end collisions a few times. My wife's car has had this type of tech for a while - that's what made me get the 18 and not the 17. I hate being the guinea pig and the thought did cross my mind when I purchased, but I went for the TSS equipped 18 anyway. I love the truck (more than my old 2nd Gen) and the TSS system in general, I just wish Toyota would deal with these type of problems and it's customers better. I think Toyota Corp is acting like little bitches refusing to sell anyone a Pro grill unless they owned a Pro. Also I don't think it should matter which you have when it comes to this recall either. I understand not wanting to do the fix for a truck with an aftermarket grill and/or aftermarket lift - fine. But refusing to perform the repair on a truck with a Pro grill, just cause it didn't come stock with it is BS. They have a fix procedure for the Pro grill - implement it! Anyway, this type of thing is not uncommon with any new system...I hope they work the kinks out.

When I bought my 2nd Gen, they had me come back in to "fix" the gas pedal cause someone wrecked and blamed Toyota when the floor mat pinned the gas pedal to the floor. My truck wasn't even a few months old and the fix they implemented was cutting the pedal and grinding the bottom of it to make it less like a hack job. I was pissed and luckily this forum informed me that if you demanded a new "improved version" of the pedal, they would order one and install that instead of cutting up your existing one.
I think they should REPLACE the radar units with the new versions instead of this BS patch fix. This patch is a week point that will eventually cause the radar to fail again - probably once it is out of warranty. It seems like the new version of the radar is not prone to water intrusion and they redesigned the vent hole(s) on it. I think it's the unit with FP on the back sticker but can't be sure.

    End Rant.

Spontaneous combustion, probably not but "Inadvertent brake activation resulting in limited deceleration" Yeah...I took mine in asap to avoid this.
Sometimes you have to bitch about things for people/companies to act. Doing the right thing is not profitable and I think this "fix" is Toyota saving themselves money. And considering how many vehicles are on this list - it should be a RECALL not a "Specioal Service Campaign".

They have fixed the problem, that's why some 2019's aren't on the list. They SHOULD be replacing all the radar unit that ARE on the list with the radar unit that they are using for the 19's that aren't on the list. This cushion fix is BS. It's just a matter of time before all the ones on the recall list fail, uh sorry, "Special Service Campaign". Hope you don't live where it rains a lot...and don't get the grill area wet either...JS

Agreed. I will wait until they get past the hack repair and replace the unit.

Mine was built in Dec 2018 in Texas. No recall.

I wonder about this TSS emergency braking.. Mine is a manual, would it stall the engine when doing full braking? Or it doesn't do that in the manual and just beeps?

I was having intermittent issues when it rained. Took it in, took about an hour. Now I gotta wait for it to rain to see if it helped. (Doesn't rain often in Vegas.)

Well, so much for that theory...Thanks for posting a picture of it. Only difference I notice is it seems to be a different color than mine. And I do not see any VENT holes like the one depicted in the repair instructions. It does however have the same part number 88210-04010 :notsure:
