I heard this as well. My son took his stock 18 dclb TRD sport to dealer for 10k mile maintenance. He was on the list for recall, plugged in to computer and no codes. So they tell him he needs to come back, for what we don't know. Also his q charger developed a hump in the center of it. They are ordering the parts for it as well.

I'm waiting for a call on my truck. I just want it to show on a auto check that's it has been taken care of.

I got to take a day off to drop my truck off at Koons Toyota in Westminster, to get a call 10 minutes later to pick it up. They needed the truck to see what part to order? WTF, thanks for wasting my time.

Got mine done yesterday. Stock 18 Sport except Pro Grille. No comments or questions from dealer (Staunton, VA). Paperwork said they updated the software and added a seal. Looking at it I can’t tell anything done.

Do you have the page of where they put the sealer with no vent holes. Here is my 2019 Pro without the vent holes requiring the sealer. Other than cost, if Toyota has a new millimeter wave radar sensor, why is this not remove and replace verse a bandaid fix? Mine didn’t throw a code and now I am scheduled for my second trip to the dealership for EPT sealer aka “bandaid.” Just found a pic of the “fix!”

I haven’t had mine done yet, that was a copy paste from a previous post on this thread. My foam seal is not being done till 4/29. Without sealer pic is my truck. Looks like a sticker change after recall if you compare the two.

Dealer called this morning. New Sport is in transit. Day or 2. I'll look for a sticker. Already told him to check for recall. I have an Ebay grill ready to go. Maybe good timing

There must be a multitude of fixes. Below is a picture of the above quoted fix.
No foam hood like others, but the radar sits inside of the OME pro grille housing.

Oh it's there. On the pro grills the cushion is placed on the front of the unit.

I've been told so much about this recall I'm not sure what to believe. From Toyota.

Went to the dealership yesterday to get this taken care of as I also got the recall letter. After the truck had been sitting at the dealership all day - they declined to do the fix. Why? I have a OR with a OEM pro grill - they said as the truck did not initially come with that grill it was modified and would not touch it:annoyed:

Well guys, I'm pretty pissed off.

I went out of my way to go to Kearny Mesa Toyota this morning, appointment scheduled 2+ weeks ago...

They just called me and rejected the recall due to having the pro grill installed. They want me to swap back OEM, take it in, have them repair, then swap pro grill back.

    Irritated.

Anybody else in SD have better luck at another dealer?

I got 34" tires but they only mentioned the grill as the problem.

I had my 5k maintenance, master cylinder replacement and this done at the same time last week. Dealership didn't say anything about my lift, tires, and pro grill. I just checked and I have the sensor without the vents on it but they also didn't put any foam or foam spacers between. Maybe because I added a little piece of plexi-glass between the sensor and garnish? idk..

It was a recall on certain trucks. Potential for internal leaking. I had mine done before the 5k service, no big deal.
