I'm a bit curious on how the do the re calibration and this so called sealer fix... I mean if it wasn't for the recalibration... i feel like i could do the fix myself... I'm seriously considering putting the stock grill back on for them to do the fix... but i know i tore it up swapping it out for my Faux pro grill ugh.

The sealer part is no mystery... it's documented in previous posts... it is one of two part numbers depending on which grille/sensor, but also includes a new code flash. That is the part that can't be duplicated.

Well it seems to be hit and miss by the dealers as far as complaining about lifts and aftermarket grills... If they give me any lip... i'm just going to fight for them to fix free of charge reguardless and will just assume liability if it happens again... i'm pretty sure mine is as a result of getting wet... mine happened as i was detailing my truck and i was drenching the front end as i was washing and that's when this issue started happening for the first time... otherwise i had my faux grill for months and did not have an issue until now...

I've decided I'm just going to pick up the pad on my way home today and do it myself.

PAD?... you mean the Sensor? Let us know how it turns out... i know mine got wet, i'm tempted to take it apart and dry it out and silicone it myself.

Part of the recall runs diagnostics on the old sensor... if it fails, they replace it. If it passes, they use the "fix" which is a patch and a code update.

Its this part, its like $10. The dealership wouldnt do the recall because of my tires, and I've only had issues when it rains so I'm just going to do it myself.

I agree, I talked with a buddy who's an engineer, and he said maybe he's wrong, but he doesn't think the radar sensor is going to be that sensitive where it'd make that big of a deal. Especially when you have to account for things like a loaded bed, towing, full truck etc etc etc that will all change ride height and angle.

Mine gets it Friday. Dealer said they have done several with lift and tires and grills with no issues or dash lights. About 1.5 hours . We shall see, fingers crossed. Will post the outcome.

Please let us know, I'm getting the major runaround and all I have beyond OEM spec is a OEM TRD Pro grill.

I have a faux Pro grille with OEM garnish. My truck is lifted 3”.
I took my truck in recently for an oil change and the dealer performed this recall.
They just asked me to sign something because my truck is lifted.

If they won’t I would call around to other dealers. Seems to be a liability thing and I believe a little bit of ignorance too.

It is merely a peice of foam tape that covers the inside of the grill emblem and the sensor. I presume it keeps water from getting between the emblem and sensor giving it false readings. I'm doing mine myself.15609672423447106410104911134373.jpg
