Went to dealer today, they haven’t even received their shipment of whatever parts are required for the fix. Seems like bs, but I’m fine with it. FWIW, others may run into with your own dealers.

I just stopped in my dealership for this. Came through on my Toyota Owners App a couple of days ago. Part is ordered. Tech said I’m like the 12th Tacoma today to come in for the service. He also said it’ll take about 90 minutes, and in a few weeks there will be a back order on the new part(s). Get in while you can! I’ve had the PCS save me and my front end once. It definitely works.

Well I thought I was finished with the stealerships, but I found one with pretty good ratings (3 Hours Away). So here we go, in for my 15K mile maintenance today and I asked the service manager about the recall for the PCS. So he checked and I made the list. Since I was the first one to come in with this recall they did not have the parts. The parts are on order and should be arriving in a week. The bad part is Toyota grounded my truck . So they put me in a Rav 4 Hybrid. Lesson learned, call to see if parts are readily available and make an appointment.

My dealer told me I could wait until my 1 year/10k service. I just had my 6 month/5k service yesterday  They didn't catch the notice yesterday so I called them to see what happened. He said they were getting the program in soon and would call me. He called me today and said they did the recall on a Tundra and it took them an hour and a half. When I asked when I could bring my truck back for this, that's when he said I could wait because it's not a big deal. Anyway, I am going back on Monday morning to get it done, I am not waiting that long.

    Grounded your truck? Wow
They had to check my sensor for a part number to order it and sent me on my way. Part should be in in about a week. 90 minute job. Loaner if I need it. Good luck!

Flash back to stock. They might be touching the ECU so you wouldn’t want them finding the tune IMO.

Yeah do it now if they have the parts. The service manager told me since this is a safety issue dealing with the braking of the vehicle, they need to pull it off the road. He also was saying due to the defective sensor, that it could apply the brakes at any time.

I saw the safety notice and I am very familiar with how that works, which is why I thought it was strange he told me I could wait. I know if I get a boat or ATV in my shop with a safety related issue it cant leave our possession until complete. Oh well, it will be done Monday and this week looks good for riding my bike anyway, so its all good.

A bird in a tree said not to bother doing this recall. He suspects there will be a revised part in the future and this is a band aid

My app just popped with this notice. Yep! I've only had my truck for a month and a half and it already has a safety recall. I do have a manufacture date of October 2018. Mine apparently sat on the lot for a little while.

Anyway. My first service is supposed to be in mid May. I might just give them a call tomorrow. Why not? I practically live at the dealer now.

It’s super easy. I just brought out my laptop and flashed back to stock. Took maybe 3 minutes.

From handling the sensor I can't see how water could get inside. Looks pretty well buttoned up already from the factory. But I guess it does happen?

My PCS turns off intermittently whenever it rains and about a day afterward. The TSB/Recall says part of the fix is applying sealant to the unit. I hope this go around solves this problem for me and everyone else.

Did the recall today. Took like 30 min. I evwn asked yesterday when i called and they said they just got the parts. Been waiting for a few weeks i guess. Mine wasnt having issues at the moment so they only sealed it. Not replace.

I think we won't have issues at most dealers, especially if we're using the OEM garnish.

If it was a warranty claim, maybe. But this is a recall. The dealers can't ignore recalls.

Agreed. If they see it, they will note it. Could come back to bite you later.
