That’s exactly what I would do. There is no way I’d take that truck after they switched out the parts.

You paid for a brand new truck, not one they wrecked then fixed...

 

Turning chicken shi_ into chicken salad...I would look at it sort of positive. New vehicles for me are like magnets for others to take dent advantage.....now your new truck is past that hurtle with the new tailgate and you will be free to park anywhere without any worry!!

Also what vlady said above....take advantage for more freebees from that dealer!! Ask for a 100k mile 10 year warrantee!

 

Things only get reported to Carfax if a insurance claim is filed. Plenty of dealerships have wrecked and scratched new cars. If they don't use their insurance, it would never be reported.

 

That was a warning to buy a different truck.
