    No-It's not. You'll get more for your money buying the base stereo and upgrading it after market. Better components and more bang for your buck. (as is with most any "upgrade" package on a car sold by a dealer)

    I think speakers with an amp is the best way to do mild upgrades to any system....A true audiophile wouldn't be pleased with it...but for a little more bump and a little more volume....They'll do the trick.

    I re wired my buddies drop top miata for speakers and a more powerful head...and it was like night and day...I'm sure it could have been better...but for like 300 bucks...it was perfect.

    I put the good stuff in my house. The wife already gets mad enough with the amount I spend on that. In the truck I just want to be able to hear it clearly with the windows down. I'm trying to decide on a sub box. Don't know which seat I should go behind. I know JL makes a 2x10" setup for behind the pass back seat, but don't know if I will need that much.

    I should really just not even think about until I get the new truck. :)

    Came VERY close to buying a house in the south end of the parish...but ya'lls taxes and insurance would have cost me 50% again on top of my mortage. We rent in Plaqumines now....:cool:

    Did you move down here yet or is it still just your wife? On-base or Off-base housing? Plaquemines is pretty nice. Somewhat country-fide swamp land, yet 15 min from downtown.

    My wife and our son live on the NAS/JRB...I'll be living over in Pensacola for a few more months while I finish training.
    It is pretty nice area out there. Takes a little bit of time to get to some stuff- but nothing that bad.

    You might want to try Topper World in Gretna. They will be able to order whatever you want if they don't have it. They are about the biggest truck accessory place in the area that I know of.
