Finally bought my TRD offroad I've wanted. New to me 2016. Day 3 owned and I get smacked with the passenger floorboard leak. Cleared AC drain line but it was fine before. Third brake light I'm not sure about. No water in back, headliner is fine. Just water pooling after rain in Passenger front. Chasing this leak is driving me nuts!

Do you have a roof rack? If the roof rack is not properly installed and sealed there will be leaks.

No roof rack. I searched forums last night before joining here today. I've read through prob 15 threads all with similar issues. No one ever comes back and states their solution. I've determined it's either coming down the A-pillar area or from the rear of the truck. Truck was parked downward on angle. All water pooled at lowest point which was the front passenger floorboard. It's likely that brake light and water runs down and to lowest point.

Possible water entry from the blower motor. If you're really inclined, remove the cabin filter and inspect it for moisture.

    Windshields can leak as well.

Just because its not common doesn't mean it can't happen.

Not sure how to link. He had similar issues but with a newer truck. No rain or car wash occurred before his issues started though.

    Hopefully nothing similar to his.

Pulled cabin filter too. It's bone dry. All components under are dry as well. I check ac vent, roof drain (appears fine), only think I can't check is brake light.

You dont want to disturb it as it will be a warranty case. I've only seen one at my location but it does happen.

check your air intake on the outside of the truck. pop the hood and you can pull back the vents close to the windshield. may not be your issue, but I had water get into the passenger floorboard once (thanks to weathertech no wet carpet) and found I had a bunch of leaves that collected in there and was diverting water in the rain. worth checking into. and yes, an improperly sealed roof rack will do the same. I used gobs of marine grade silicone when I mounted mine and have never had leaks from the roof

Im out of warranty but the dealer said if it is the 3rd light they will likely goodwill it since it such a known issue. It is driving me bonkers. What else could it be?

No moon roof. After getting into the back window I found what looks like a spray sealant overspray in an attempt at a cheap fix. I'm thinking it's the back window seals. I'll dig tomorrow. I called dealer and they want me to bring it in and try and make it right for me

Was there ever a roof rack installed ? Holes might not have been plugged properly.
Or even leaking past the seal.
Only way to find it is to hose down each area separately while someone is in truck watching.

    Update:

Well after crawling around the truck I noticed what looks like flex seal overspray beneath the back window. The previous owner may have tried to do a quick fix situation. I called the dealer and they are going to look at it for me. The back window now leaking would make sense seeing that evidence there. Hopefully they will test it and fix it for me

Although you have identified issues with the back window confirm the front windshield is OEM.

I had a hell of a time with windshield leaks after getting a non-OEM windshield when mine broke. Three OEM replacements later I’m finally leak free, I think.

I had a similar issue, noticed the leak in the weather seal, I think. My local Toyota dealer wants to run a "diagnostic" for $120

Your state does not offer a warranty on used cars? In MA you have a warranty of 30, 60, or 90 days depending on the mileage of the car purchased, even if the factory warranty is up. They can charge up to $100 for repairs, but it is better than nothing.

That's it! I found it today. It's the 3rd brake light seal. Part is $148 and labor is $120. I'll prob just do it myself.
