Send me all your money, and I'll send you a box of mods.

    Ok, never mind.

Here's my personal mod order............. After the vehicle is paid in full and all maintenance items baselined.

    1) Don't do it because someone else says I should. Ever. I dislike peer pressure as much as I hate debt.

    2) Does it improve something functional? Make something perform better, or safer? (Like adding intermittent wipers)

    3) Assuming #2 is met, does it also have cosmetic benefit? (side bonus)

    4) Is is cosmetic only? But harms no function?

    5) If I'm replacing worn parts (say tires) do I get to 'double dip' by doing maintenance, improving function and improving looks? Wait, that's a triple dip!

    6) Overriding all of the above is budget. Can I pay cash for the change w/o impacting anything else in my life? Now if maintenance is driving the issue, that's another variable. But if it's just a mod, it can wait till I can pay for it. The need for instant gratification is a debt creator. (see #1)

I like how you hammer this point home constantly Bill, I am in agreement with you. Aside from a shell and floor mats, nothing was done until my truck was paid off, and even now I've only upgraded the tires and I'm good
