New owner of a 2.7 l 4cyl 5 speed 4x4

    I know the 2.7 had a timing chain and gets a few more MPGs better than the 3.4 what else is a benefit of the 2.7?

    Also which engine is most reliable?

    the 3rz is a great engine with proper maintenance and care the engines see over 200k only common issue is the heads are a little weak besides that by far my prefered choice over the 3.4

    Sliders, lift, 275/70/17
    The 3RZ has a stronger bottom end but that doesn’t really matter unless you’re adding boost. IMO the 3.4 is usually more reliable in real-world applications since you don’t have to worry nearly as much about the valves going out of spec or the head(s) warping.

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    For what ever reason the Exhaust manifolds like to crack. Not really the engine but good to be aware of.

    It all comes down to the history of the engine some people can ruin anything.
