So.... just picked up a bare bones 4wd TRD offroad today. A whole 2997 miles on her. Because used... I also got a 100K Toyota extended warranty. I just drove it home and, near as I can tell, it just has the TSS and no other packages. No sunroof. No nav, no nothing. Has a sweet power seat, cruise, tilt, air, radio...
    Android auto works.
I test drove it around sixty miles, crawled underneath and clean as a pen with no signs of anything. Engaged 4hi and 4lo... no sounds.

    I love it.
Glad to be an owner again.

Interesting that you went with used, my local market a slightly used ones are like $5k more expensive than new equivalent, and luckily there's an MSRP dealer in town, just gotta wait 1-2 months

    Good question.
I traded in an eight month old Ridgeline. I got just about what I paid for the Ridgeline, which was more than the Tacoma. So, I lost a bit but still have a less payment.
I figure if I do this 100 times in the current market I will eventually get a new one free....
However, this is it for awhile.
I traded a 2017 Tacoma for a 2019 Loaded Tundra. I traded that Tundra eight months ago for more than I paid for it for a loaded Ridgeline.
Ridgeline made me sad. Traded it for a Tacoma. Payments and duration have went dow each time.
I am quitting here and will enjoy a honest truck without it trying to drive itself.

Yea, wife not particularly happy but...I don't ask for much.
She called me dumb, I said I know, she said let's go get it done. 40 years with her so I don't always want the latest...

I guess I had a bit of a different experience. When I got my truck back in 08.2021, my girlfriend couldn't have been happier. She was super supportive and we have gone on a few trips already... one being next weekend. But here and I are like two peas in a pod. fit well together and get along great. She enjoys the offroading and camping.

Just gotta make sure she's warm when camping. cold = no bueno. whether its blankets hand warmers buddy heater or truck heater, happy wife happy life, or in my case happy girlfriend.

Yeah, the current market is ridiculous, and I am ridiculous too, bought 4 new cars over the past year and I have now a little bit less than $140k worth of auto loan balance, but I know that I can easily sell all and turn a profit

Also, FYI, Toyota Financial Services has a 3-vehicle loan limit, despite having top tier credit, they just wouldn't approve a 4th loan and JP Morgan Chase was happy to lend the money

    Congrads on the truck.

My situation was different too - the wife was poking me to buy a truck for the past 2 years. Me being a cheap-azz
figured the 2012 Manual Jeep Patriot was paid for, only had 50,000 miles on it, her new 2017 Subaru would be paid
off in another month or two... why endure a new car payment.

Well she looked online and told me she wanted the SR5 Trim Access Cab so I went looking. At first there were lots to
be had then all of the sudden the shortages started happening. Found one, test drove it, ended up somehow with the
key in my pocket when I got home.

She handed me the checkbook and said go back there and don't come home without it... LOL... and now I wonder WTF
took me so long to come around I love this thing... she's always right.... always.

A pic I've posted many times before:
