If you have a code reader with live data, the fuel trim values will help determine if you have a vacuum leak. Otherwise, start pulling hoses one at a time.

Ya no reader. It’s gotta be related to this damn pcv valve but everything snug.

At what mileage are you now?
You said you replaced it at 70k, but we need more info.
How long as the PCV been on?

Have you pinched the hose off temporarily or removed the hose to see if the “whistle” goes away?
    Maybe it’s not the PCV?

Did you tighten it too far and crack the valve cover?

Did you use teflon tape on the threads? That may help. Maybe a new hose clamp also.

Old clamps are definitely not as tight on the new hose used no tape. Hypothetically if I had cracked valve cover it would be near the pcv right? Sorry guys I’m a rookie.

Yes. It would be right around where the PCV threads in.
The PCV is a tapered thread, it gets larger in diameter the further you screw it in.
That’s why you do not “need” tape. You can use some if it makes you feel better.
I forget the the actual spec, but “spark plug” is good. Like 13-15 ft/lbs or so.

Is the new one an aftermarket bit? They don't work out well for some items.

Why did you replace the old one? General maintenance or to solve a problem?

Did you test the old one to verify it was bad? Or still good?

Well got it replaced. New one went in easy went sung 3-4 threads still exposed. Same faint whine tried a squirt of oil around the threads to check for leak no bubbles just quickly ran down. No cracks in cover looks like I’m rolling with it.

Be mindful checking like that because that area will be under vacuum not pressure, so it will pull in anything sprayed in the area not push it out with bubbles. Maybe spray a shot of brake clean around it to see if it changes the idle from being drawn in or even a bit of water

. I did try a bit of water no change. Only thing that’s made a difference was putting the old one back in lol. I figure I’m just going to have to accept the noise. Anything I should watch for if it is a vacuum leak?
