Did you ever get that front camera working Caliasada? I'm having the same problem as you. I thought I saw somewhere further back in the thread that you don't need the Germes unit with this new HU and the Maestro? I have it and will use it if I have to, but if I don't need it then I won't bother hooking it up.

Nevermind, got it working. This radio is a great step up from that stock unit. I was also having a problem with android auto not working, but after grounding the light green wire from the HU instead of connecting it to the light green from the harness, that is now working.

So after stalking this thread for weeks I finally got my radio installed and am loving it so far.

I am curious if Android Auto is supposed to still work with the navigation display in the steering wheel and display the compass/turns/etc? The Maestro page says it should work but I'm not sure if they mean radios with built in nav. I'm in a 2019 that had JBL. Everything works with gauges etc as far as I can tell and I can change OEM settings through the HU so I think my Maestro is working, also on latest firmware for the HU.

I don't care if it doesn't work if it's not supposed to, just trying to make sure I've got everything connected correctly.

Anyone else with Android Auto have this working?

Everything that I have read says that this is the only thing lost when using the Maestro units. I have a Kenwood that I just installed (using this thread as guidance) and it is also no longer functioning for me. IMO, with all the other things that the Maestro brings to the head unit this isn't even a blip on the radar.

Does the 13 band graphic equalizer feature make the JBL system sound any better?

Ok cool, thanks for that. It's not really a blip for me either just making sure I did the install correctly and it sounds like I have. I also noticed the right hand steering wheel shortcuts (I tried to set a push to hold for reverse camera) don't really work either - but I'm guessing that's due to the Pioneer needing a firmware update or something...or maybe intentional (even though maestro says this should work) to not mess up the right buttons controlling the steering wheel display. I wish I could just remove the nav shortcut now from the display so I don't have this awkward empty screen I have to flip past.

I haven't touched EQ yet but I will say that I think the audio is better sounding overall. I dunno if I'd consider myself an audiophile but I do have studio grade gear/dacs for listening to vinyl/etc in my home and I definitely can tell a difference with the new radio - particularly with low voice tones sounding tighter and richer. I've only had the truck for a month or so, so I didn't have much time with the default JBL but to my ears this sounds better.

The digital sound processor in the 6600 is lightyears better than the Entune, and you will notice a drastic improvement right away over the stock Entune premium and the JBL models. The equalizer gives you the ability to customize the sound to your personal preference.

Getting fed up with the Chinese Android path and have been in this thread since the beginning. I went to look at the headunit on Crutchfield (they're listing it as compatible for at least the 2017s now) and saw they're suggesting that Metra floating display kit. I don't understand what that does, but that's not why I'm posting.

Has anyone seen the crazy Kenwood Exelon with the 10-inch screen? It's $1100, but I am in love. I may need it. Maybe.

sorry for the late reply, I ended up going the car solution route. It works great and I forgot the usefulness of how it switches from rear to front cam after reversing. It’s good to know that your method works too. Now people who upgrade the front camera has some options on ways to hook up the front cam.

I forgot to ask, does anyone know how to set the clock on the unit? Is it me, it seems there’s no way to manually set up the clock. I don’t know if it has to do with WiFi/hotspot connection, which I haven’t been able to connect through yet...

Touch and hold the digital clock. The set screen will display.

My wife knew I have been researching head units on crutchfield and decided to splurge and got me this monstrosity for Christmas. It's bigger than I expected, but it grows on you. Installation was a breeze if you take your time. The thing sounds and looks great!

That's real nice. Does she have a sister?? I have it sitting in my cart, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet.

She's an only child... and it was really MY money. LOL Anywho, I think she just felt sorry for me, having been laid up from a nasty shoulder reconstruction surgery and the installation gave me something to do after having been cooped up so long.

Does it have phone mirroring or an HDMI in? I can't remember when I was researching. I also really like the volume knob. And I want say it controlled other things as well.

It has wireless mirroring and an HDMI port. While I am not using the HDMI, it's pretty cool: It is actually recessed in the back of the unit with a plate that locks in in place (so there is no worries of it coming loose).

The wireless android auto has been working flawlessly, as well.

Thanks! While I don't condone this: I have a long commute and watch Netflix in the stop and go traffic so it's nice to have that ability. Enjoy that thing!
