Power to your front camera? If rear works and Germes works that’s probably it

Also with Germes you use the Germes front camera input, not the pioneer front camera input.

Head unit successfully installed (shout out to @daveeasa for all of his help with my speaker noise and front camera issue). Also, thank you to everyone on this thread as it was beyond helpful in preparing for the purchase and install.

So far the HU is awesome and have been learning the functions and configurations. I do have a few questions. I did read back through the thread looking for like issues so my apologies if I missed something already mentioned.

*Each time I fire up the truck and unit the wifi will not connect. I have to disable/enable the personal hotspot on the phone then select the phone on the wifi screen on the HU. I did see where someone else was having the issue but it seemed like it was more of a deal where he hadn't connected to the radio for some time. Example this morning I grabbed a coffee came back out and had to go through the process.

*My Vehicle only the top two options are available (gauge and vehicle) the bottom two are greyed out

*System\Oem settings most sub settings unavailable

*No beeping when in reverse as cars are approaching from sides and or I'm getting close to an object directly behind (I think this is parking assist but not sure)

If this is normal and features that don't come along with the HU and Maestro I'm good just want to make sure that's the case and not something I missed during setup and installation.

Check to make sure odb comms enabled. And also delete your phone and re pair it to rule out trouble there.

always enabled or auto disable should work. Also you want to make sure it’s disabled or auto disabled before using tech stream to flash ECU or program stuff. See the ECU thread for the details.

I don’t have BSM nor parking assist (wish I did, my driveway situation would benefit from both) so I’m useless on that part.

Might be worth running an update on you phone and the apps as well.

If your taco is equipped with rear sensors then the beeping should work like factory with the pioneer head unit and maestro RR or Rr2.
I might be wrong but the back up sensor operates on its own even without the head unit, minus the reverse camera video. Maybe check if your bSm and parking assist button are on

Comms are enabled as I am receiving some of the data components just missing a lot of them. I have also completely disabled wifi on the truck and phone then reconfigured.

iPhone has latest updates. Matter of fact it installed one the past week.

Where would these buttons be located? On the truck, HU or Maestro?

Ah yes that button ;) Yes it is on. I did turn it on and off as sometimes I need to do that because it will just stop sensing cars next to me. Unfortunately no dice.

I have a question specifically about the gauges. I don't have readings for transmission temp, and other gauges. They're just greyed out. The OBDII plug is plugged in to the truck and the harness according to the wiring diagram for the maestro. Not sure what else to do.

If you set up the maestro correctly, then yes. Mine do.

Were you able to get it to work via wireless?
I’m getting a connection error when I try to update the firmware

Also, anybody else notice that the backup camera looks terrible on this?

I have never been able to get it to work via wireless. Not even the app to head unit features. I have a Pixel 5 which is technically the reference device for Android, so I'm not sure why any of this is happening. The app constantly hangs up and I have to end up force closing it every time. Otherwise I have a weird notification on my top bar.

Think of it like this, the input you're getting from the camera is about 360p. The screen that it's coming out of in front of you is set to about 720p. I don't think of the head unit has any kind of upscaling or smoothing features. That said I have heard of some people upgrading their camera and getting a better looking image.

no I actually just updated with a thumb drive. Download the update file on your computer from the pioneer site. Copy it over to the thumb drive & insert it into your trucks usb. It was easy I kept getting errors also.

Howdy, everyone. I finally decided to upgrade to the WC6600NEX after much frustration with the jbl system. I just received it and will begin installing sometime next week. This will be my first time installing a new car stereo but I’m feeling good about the installation process after reading all of the threads on here. I have read this thread from start to finish a few times, along with many other threads. I have the JBL Premium system and I’m trying to confirm a few things. TO give a bit of insight on what I'm trying to build:

    Currently installed:
    Alpine SPE 6000’s
    Alpine S-s69c
Stock JBL receiver, amp, and sub.

    Have in my possession:
    DMH-WC6600NEX
    iDatalink HRN-RR-TO2 Factory Integration Adapter
    iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module
    Metra AX-TOYUSB USB Port Cable
    Metra 40-LX11 Antenna Adapter
    Crutchfield RCA Adapter
    Crutchfield ready harness
    Anytime backup + front camera

    Plan to order this weekend:
    Alpine S-A55V 5 channel amp
Kicker CompRT shallow mount 8” subwoofer dual 4 ohm
    Speaker Wire
    4AWG power wire
    4AWG ground wire
    18AWG remote turn-on wire
    Fuse holder
Natika backup camera to replace OEM for better resolution
    new microphone

My initial plan was to completely remove the stock amp/sub/stereo. I have read some conflicting information and I wanted to clarify. If I remove the factory amp/sub, I will have to run all new speaker wire from the speakers to the Alpine amp, right? Or is there a better way to wire? I have read that some folks insist that the stock JBL amp must stay installed and it can be bypassed to connect the aftermarket amp + keep the speakers factory wired? Is that inaccurate? I thought that was only the case if you wanted to keep the stock jbl headunit. Is running the speaker wire from each speaker to the amp the best and cleanest approach? I want this install to be clean, and I'm willing to take the time to do it right. I will be sound deadening/dampening before the audio installation. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you have any other suggestions of what I may be missing to complete this install or any tips, feel free to say something!

^^ Hopefully someone with JBL can chime in. If there is any value in a T harness to the 6 or 10 pin connector for speaker injection, I’m happy to help out with that.

Made an install/retrospective on my YouTube channel. Not the the best since most of my stuff was packed up, but enough of one for getting the gist of an install.
