Does anyone know anywhere in So-Cal where I can provide the needed parts and get a clean install like this?

You're saying go to both for certain work or choose one?

Sorry I am a dummy and have never really done A/V stuff. Is tackle-able on my own? I need an adult T-T

Yes. You may find cheaper things at best buy vs crutchfiekd and vice-versa

It’s probably a 5-6 out of 10 on the scale of difficulty. Not an ideal first system but doable if you take your time and go one step at a time and double check as you go.

I’ve been contemplating trying to provide a pre-crimped or soldered harness for people. That and drilling holes in the factory brackets for flush mount. If you want to consider something like that I might be game. But that sort of robs you of some of the satisfaction?

Does this seem like a good deal? I feel like they padded the invoice with unnecessary extras, but maybe someone with experience of buying one at a stereo shop and having them install it can chime in.

Your parts should run you no more than $1250 shipped. Your shopping list is in post #335

I corrected the parts list post: #335 The dash mount kit is optional if you are willing to modify your existing radio mounts (not difficult).

Is anyone getting battery drain from Maestro unit? I already changed out the battery and if I leave the radio1 fuse in it drains a ton of battery if I let the car sit for a couple of days.

I've had a maestro installed with a different pioneer head unit for over a year and even through a distinct lack of regular driving from covid had no battery issues in my 2018. Could you possibly have something that should have been acc power to the maestro spliced to constant power?

Same situation as @Doctor_Bear, I hardly drive my truck since covid started and haven't had any issues with the battery draining. Specifically with this unit.

Nope but it looks like the battery. Replaced it and everything looks fine.

Just finished the install. I have one problem I was hoping to get a solution to. The sound quality is not very good when making a phone call, listening to voicemail or using Siri. This happens when using Apple CarPlay both wirelessly and wired. Sound quality when playing music is great. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you in advance.

I recall mine having a robotic tone when a call came through or when using voice commands. It was gone after I updated the head unit. Have you tried updating to the latest firmware at all?

Forgive me if this seems obvious, but it wasn't for me at first. I didn't realize there were separate volume levels for each output when I first installed the unit. The Siri voice, navigation, and phone volumes were very low while the music output was fine. If you adjust the volume while any of these other outputs are playing, they will adjust independently.

If you have a JBL this might be the problem. The amp setting needs to be increased in the Maestro setting under vehicle on the pioneer.

I was finally able to install mine last night. Connecting all the wires and cable including running the enfig mic to the factory location was actually a breeze. It’s the damn bracket that had me cussing up a storm. And of course updating the firmware, as others have already stated, was a pain as well.
I still have to hook up my Germes Car Solution front camera but @daveeasa and @svermilyea set me on the right path.

Now I need to get familiar with all the new setting which hopefully won’t take too long.

Shout out to @daveeasa, @svermilyea and @Dazed for all their help and everyone else on here contributing.

So I was able to update the firmware to the latest. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. And yes it’s just like you described it “a robotic tone”.
