looking at getting a new head unit soon. I've narrowed it down between the nex4100 and avh4700bhs. if anyone has experience with the nex4100 or the avh5700bhs please chime in.

I got a nex4000 (basically the same as the 4100) and i like it... using carplay it gets a little buggy but i think thats the phone's fault, not the HU. Carplay is the shit, and i think def worth the money. i havent seen Android auto but i am sure that's tight too

I've had the Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS for about 7 months now. Overall I like it a lot. I mostly listen to music on a flash drive or the HD radio. Two things irritate me about it: (1) if you don't have your phone with you, or have Bluetooth on it turned off, you get this warning message taking up 2/3 of the screen that won't go away on its own; and (2) I added the GPS navigation unit and the display is white roads on a yellow background, which is a b***h to see.

I just installed the AVH-4100NEX. I have done stereo installs before and this one was the biggest PITA.
Android Auto on this is awesome though. Just plug in your phone and you have instant Navigation on the screen.
The biggest plus for this is you always can get the latest maps... for FREE!
This also allows for a 2nd camera input view, aside from the rear backup cam, so I installed a front camera for parking assist, misc, etc.

It is the exact same as the 4100... Only difference is car play come pre loaded on the 4100 so picking up the 4000 and flashing it with the update will save you over 100$ that's what I did no reason to blow that extra money for nothing different
