I have this on wifeys ride gx 460 bought it last week @ Discount Tire 265/65/r18 from $203 to $183/tire, price match from Walmart+10% rebate :D so yeah I think I had a good deal.(17&16 are cheaper shop online before you decided to buy)
On the hi-way just like all terrain tires they have humming sound and ride is stiff compared to hi-way tires on wet roads and cornering they are really good im planning to go sand Duning this weekend at San Luis pass and heading to Denver Co on 23rd I’ll shed some input about this Pireli all terrain plus 114t sl rwl :proposetoast:

Thanks for the insights! I assume the humming is pretty normal and/or not too extreme? I put some Wildpeak A/T3's on my F150 (previously had some generic all seasons) and there was only a very tiny increase in noise. When I put Grabber AT2 on my Impreza (previously had performance summer tires) there was a large increase in noise.

Thanks for your comments. It seems that opinions on which rating is appropriate are all over the place. I'm interested in putting these tires on our Tacoma, which has maybe 600 lbs of racks/RTT/sliders, etc.
But I was unsure about going with the 116 or the 123 (E) tire. I asked Pirelli, two local 4x4 custom shops, a group of overlanders and again, nothing definitive. Based on your post, your suggestion
would be to get the E-rated tire and air down as necessary? I don't want to analyze this to death, but optimizing ride comfort is important.

    Thank you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble with this. I'm going through the exact same thing where there's good info/suggestions on both sides but it's also very conflicting. I'm leaning towards the E rated. That's whats on there now and the ride is fine - sure, could be better, but it's livable.

I plan on buying & running 10 ply tires next time. I think the extra piece of mind is totally worth it. I don’t tow at all but I go up in the mountains once/twice a month, have a shell & about 100 lbs of gear in the back. Not to mention I’m looking for a great 10 ply @ a decent price. That being said, I’d like to use my current tires for one more summer.

anyone have a better website to use to research tires? I’ve been using tire rack & discount tire to compare weight, tread depth, prices & reviews

@Kolter45 I've always liked Tirerack and it’s the best resource I’ve found for tire research. I get the big stuff there then supplement with google searches for additional reviews and forum posts.

I just asked our local tire store about this. They put K02s on one of our vehicles, and most of them at the shop run them. One of them overlands with his Tacoma.
He said the only option in the tire size for his truck was an E-rated K02, but recommended the 116 (versus the 123 E-Rated) if we went with Pirelli Scorpion ATP on our Tacoma.
He said at 2740lbs load rating, "It's more than you will ever need".

I'll take his 38 years of experience in the tire business, but YMMV.

I put a set of these tires on my Taco. I run about 98% of the time on blacktop, and use my truck as a company car. I wanted something better than the stock Goodyears, better off road capability, but still a good highway tire. Very happy with them so far.

Just bought these from TireRack.com and about to go pick them up. I’m an hour away from their CT distribution center so I’m able to save $64 if I pick them up myself. Will get them mounted tomorrow morning. Not many people on this forum have them but the ones that do seem to like them. Fingers crossed!

p.s. I watched a review that said the tread is shaped like a P and an S for Pirelli Scorpion. Pretty lame and actually made me second guess the tires but the price brought me back.

Sure rated well on Tirerack.. Pretty well everywhere Ive seen. Seem to me that although it's an E rated tire, at 49 pounds for a 265/75/16 it might be an easier ride that an E rated KO2. Keep us updated. Want to make a choice fairly quick and this or Duratracs in a C rating are the top runners. The more feedback the better!

There's two versions on tirerack actually. An E load rated and a lighter no load rating tire. I know the E loads are pretty heavy for these trucks, especially my 4cyl so I went with the lighter tire and it’s cheaper too. But yeah, I’ll post my thoughts when I get some miles on them. Might be a while since I’m staying at home...

Ok so just got them installed and drove around a bit and they feel just fine. No noticeable changes other than since I went with 265/75/16 it’s about an inch and a half taller, which I like. Fills out the wheel wells more too. So as of now I recommend them but I have under a hundred miles on ‘em. I don’t see any problems manifesting.

I like the look of the Pirelli Scorpion A/T they compare the same as the new Toyo Open Country AT3 265/70R17 except the Toyo is 3 peak winter certified. They both have an aggressive off road look. I ended up buying the LT265/70R17 KO2 in C load as the new Toyo was only currently in the US. The OP actually purchased ISO metric tires, they have a higher load index than C load tires and lower index than E rated tires. LT metric tires have more tread than ISO metric of the same size. If you install P metric tires on you light truck the load index is reduced by 10% and likely be lower value than the recommend tire size on the placard. Still the Pirelli is a good looking A/T tire.

Edit: The Pirelli Scorpion A/T is 3 Peak certified (All-Weather). BFG KO2 and the Toyo Open Country AT3 is also 3 Peak certified and "Mountain Snowflake qualified for severe snow conditions" (Winter).

The load index on the factory Dunlops in 265/65/17 is 110. Most 265/70/17 are 115, which I believe the Pirellis are.

Haha. I never noticed the P and S pattern! I doubt I ever would have honestly, but now I can’t unsee it...

The Pirelli’s are also 3 peak certified. Can you give sources to the load index rating being lowered on our trucks and being out of spec? Everywhere I looked said these tires are more than adequate for our trucks and exceed the factory load index.

The E load Pirelli Scorpion AT + are 123S as a single and 120S as a dual. The normal ones like I got are 116T.

Sorry!!! Haha, I actually don’t like that they did that but I do like the look of the tread. At least they didn’t make it actually spell out scorpion. Italians...:)

They look 3 peak rated but are "all weather" like "all season". Check Tire Rack or 1010Tires, and they are made in Brazil.

Edit: the 3 peak is also included on all weather tires.

So this 3 peak symbol is a lie? And I can’t find anything about where these tires are made, can you link? I don’t really care if they’re made in Brazil but I’m curious now since you brought it up.

Edit: Sorry, it says Made in Brazil right on the tire. Didn’t think it would.
