If your on the fence, then do it. If you dont like it after, then it just peals off easily.

I agree with HawkShot99 just do it. Make sure you spray at least 3 coats so it will be easy to peel off if you only use 1 coat it will peel in pieces. And the sooner you remove the easier it will be.

First Dip ever- I dipped my grill logo but I used the other brand.... Rustoleum Peel Coat. I did 4 light coats and one medium coat, then after a couple hours did a 5th coat- came out nicely, but I wish the red was a little darker. The finish itself is great. I've never used the Plasti-dip but I read that the Rustoleum is thinner and tends to require more coats but gives a nicer finish and I read it doesn't get "splattery" or clog the nozzle. I like how it makes the red hook below more visible too.

Each coat was left to dry for five minutes. After the medium final coat I did another one a few hours later just in case and it worked out.

Question; what do you have to do to prep the surface before using the plasti dip on shiny chrome pieces?

I dipped my chrome bumper with no prep. I just made sure it was clean and dry. It came out good people thought I bought a black bumper.

I used simple dish soap and warm water and made sure it was very dry after. I then let it sit to continue to air dry for about half the day just to be sure. I probably could've hit it with a hair dryer or whatever, but I had other stuff around the house to do, so it didn't matter.
