Has anyone here added solar to the top of your Topo? I'm trying to figure out what the best route would be to run the wiring down into the bed.

he is running renogyofficial he goes over his solar setup. Im also looking to put solar panel, you can run the cables into the truck bed or cleaner look drill into the top and seal it and make sure to be between the canvas, thats what I was told when I got my topper put in. Im looking at sun flare xplor 180 series.

This is my Mesa had it about 3 months now, so far so good. I came from RSI SmartCap w/ RTT then back to ground tent, now back to truck topper. I'm in Los Angeles we dealt with record rainfall for much of first quarter of the year. No leaks, has been able to handle high winds during camp. Slowly building what to do, I have 2 kids so most of it right now it just jamming stuff inside, plus it's my daily/surf vehicle. Will be adding a rack and solar. Highly recommend Topo Toppers they are great people.

As far prinsu style cab racks.. I had about 1/8''-1/4" clearance I ran it like that without cutting, I didn't have issues but just scared of flex and scratch/damage truck or topper. I ended up cutting off 1/2" from my prinsu just for my peace of mind. Looks rad man, I have a black Tacoma and have the mesa on order so it’s great to be able to see what my future will look like. Any chance you could share your wheel offset and tire size?

Just thought I would share. Finished insulating the inside. Wasn't the easiest thing in the world but my first time doing it.

Nice! That's one of the first things on my list. Do you mind sharing what you used?
I'm picking up my Mesa in July

Sure I actually kept it pretty cheap going to home depo. I used the ridge foam board there and only needed one 8x4 board and the carpet available in bulk. I used spray adhesive and insulation tape to keep in all together. I did use reflectix around the back window since it was easier to work around the gaskets and bolts for the locks.

I only used the spray adhesive to mount the carpet, if you cut the ridge board just right, it will be a tight fit. It also leaves some air gaps between the aluminum wall and insulation which I hear makes for better working insulation.

Thanks for sharing! This is def another method I have not thought of, especially leaving an air gap between the wall & insulation. Might ponder on that idea.
I have not gotten a hard date for installation, but can't wait for it.
Let us know how the insulation holds up in the future!

I’ve insulted mine exactly the same as yavin4 and it’s been in use for well over a year holding up great. Only issue I’ve had has been the need to reapply spray adhesive to the back of carpet and face of insulation due to slight peeling. I went with speaker carpeting with a backing meant for this as well. It’s a real cozy place to be with the full bedrug as well.

I want mine to have a wood panel look, whether it is an actual real wood panel or wood vinyl. But sounds like any carpet would actually be more functional and possibly provide better insulation performance as well.

I’ve appreciated the carpet coziness and quietness, not sure I could attest to any added insulation benefit-but it sure doesn’t hinder it.

I've been trying to get my hands on a bed rug and sell my decked. If anyone would like to trade I'd be down haha. Been aiming for the extra room and full cozy.

I'm gonna get interlocking EVA foam from Amazon for the floor.
And trim to the shape of the bed

Has anyone mounted traction boards (ARB or Maxtrax) to the L Track on either the roof or side? If so, what did you use?

Thinking of selling mine already. Just doesn’t fit my lifestyle at the moment. Nothing negative about the company or product. They make a solid camper and I love it
