    I would leave the latches that are on them, I can’t see why it’s worth changing them. Easy to use, spin to adjust for extra bedding (if needed). They work well.

    They are riveted on so you’ll need to drill them out if you remove.

    Anyone have recommendations on a brand that works well on a Short bed Badlander ?

    on the Topo Toppers FB group, I've read people sent things like solar panels to Topo and they installed it for the customer.

    I'm guessing it's because solar panels aren't super integral (i.e. if the latches provided by a buyer that could pose liability and/or cause the camper to fail I some way)

    That'd be my guess 100%. Tom is detailed in the parts he chooses. I worked with them to spec out my camper for kayaks, and it seemed like he put a lot of thought in the atypical parts and how those parts would affect or work alongside the rest of the camper.
