Sorry, it's summer and have been camping almost every weekend! lol

Nothing bad to report, this camper is fucking sweet!

So far I've discovered when you're not sleeping, you can put the bed in couch mode and have the entire truck bed open.

I still need to buy some lumber and start building the drawer deck and cabinets out for my sink, fridge, and stove.

In retrospect, I should've ordered the roof fan, it gets pretty warm inside, especially in 70F full sun. And I also plan to cook inside too. Should be a pretty easy DIY project.

I'm still debating the idea of installing passenger side cargo door too.

    I don't like it, I love it!

The camper doesn't come with a mattress, but I've found that the Exped Megamat Duo fits perfectly! It's like sleeping in bed at home.

I'm able to close the camper with the mattress and a double-down sleeping bag too. It's a little tight, I have to torque down the latches every now and then when the mattress and sleeping bag deflate a bit more, but it works!

I usually push up in the middle when I'm inside, the struts will pop it the rest of the way.

You will still have to push the walls in and velcro the straps though.

Good info, thank you! I guess the mattress is something new, since you got yours. Thomas was telling me he's been making little changes here and there to refine it more. I was thinking about getting an Exped anyhow. I really like how he designed them to work on 2nd & 3rd gens. I like knowing that if I ever get tired of my little Reg Cab, I can get a 2nd or 3rd gen AC and just swap the camper over.

Well I just put my deposit down on the Mesa camper last night! Looks like a solid camper and it’s only a three hour drive from me

I saw the Mesa when I got my Badlander installed Monday. Super sweet. And 8 week lead time?

And yes, they will have mattresses ready to sell within weeks (?). Also talking other accessories soon (interior battery cage).

These are pretty appealing. I like the profile of them in comparison to some other others on the market. Pricing and lead time are also favorable. Anyone got any pics showing how the topper is secured to the bed? Anyone know what kind of seal they use?

I got a call from them yesterday. Super dope people and it makes me happy I went with them. Answered all my questions and talked about my future plans with this build as well as offering to make something custom for my needs. Excited to show y’all!

It clamps down to the bed rails, just like a regular shell would. I forget what kind of seal they said they were using.

Yeah, they are really cool and they take their time for questions and answers. The two times I want to them I never felt rushed. Great people

I can't decide between Mesa or badlands, I like the idea of solar and a fan, but I like the wedge look. Does anyone know if the wedge has plastic windows? Or is it only on the pop top? I live on oregon coast and love camping in the rain. Does the Mesa bed on gas spring or is it like badland with removable slats?

The Mesa looks to be a little thinner profile than a GFC. Anyone know what the height is above the cab or bedrail? A GFC is just a little too close for comfort with my garage...

I would think that you could install the solar and fan yourself after the fact. Windows and cargo hatches are available as options on the Mesa. The bed is also removable slats, they sent me this video.
