Nice wheel tire combo! Hope you get the issue resolved soon and that you put the weights on the inside of the wheel!

Love those wheels also your ghosted tacoma badge. How do you find the ride quality? My new duratracs 285 70 17 are a rough ride.

actually i ditched wheel weights all together.. it was calling for way to much. Put 8 oz of Dynabeads in each tire and it rides awesome. I was scared to try those at first but so far so good

I got my Maxxis Bighorns bead-balanced out of the gate, glad I did. They ride terrific for an MT and wear isn't that bad, considering the tread pattern. Don't even want to know what the weight would've had to have been for regular style wheel weights.

your ride looks great! do you get much snow in Penticton?

What exactly is bead balancing and what are advantages/disadvantages of it ?Why don't shops use it all the time?

Thanks alot! we can get a decent amount of snow, its really hit or miss.. I cant wait to give these a try in it!

I had never heard of it before I ran into some problems with the balancing issues. It was neccesary for me because the amount of weights the balancer was calling for was so much that the weights wouldnt clear my caliper, so really it was my only choice. Its used alot in semi tires and motorhomes because it works better on vehicles going a constan speed rather than stop and go.

Bead balancing is probably the best for bigger tires and certainly Mud Terrains, since the normal wheel weights won't balance properly or require way to much for it to be worthwhile. Like it was said before, their almost like BBs.. when they did mine they just dumped the packs directly in the tire, then mounted 'em to the rims. Haven't had an issue in either stop/go traffic and certainly not doing 70-80mph (and faster?) with my 255/85x16s.. They ride great.

I don't know how effective they'd be for smaller tires, i.e. passenger car type stuff... or low profile applications, but they certainly seem to work for trucks that go off-road and the larger rigs, etc. :)
