I bought my 04' DC TRD Taco this winter and it is finally getting nice enough outside for me to crawl around underneath it and start doing the work that needs done there. My gas tank skid is looking pretty rusty and I was considering cleaning it up and hitting it with POR, but decided to see if there is anything out there in the aftermarket world first.

I found that Low Range OR began producing a gas tank skid for the first gen taco about a month ago. It is only $199 plus shipping so...

Just placed my order and Ill review it's install and performance once I have it here and mounted up.

Subed because I'm curious as to how it turns out.

    DANIEL,
Just wanted to let you know that we currently do not have an item(s) in stock on your order, (TACOMA GAS TANK SKID) we should be expecting them to be back in stock, and your order going out towards the end of the week, possibly next week. Thank you for your patience.
    Thanks,

Finally got the skid on Thursday. Mounted it up today. It is much sturdier than the chunk of rust that I pulled off, mounted up easy using the stock mounting holes and hardware. Fit was perfect - no issues there. Seems worth the wait to me - $199 plus shipping for something better made than the rusty junk that Toyota wanted to charge me over $700 to replace.

How's the skid working out for you? Looking to pull the trigger on this as well.

Does this tank skid touch a Low Range Rear Dif. skid at full flex?

Sorry for my long absence - haven't visited forums for a long time. Very happy with the skid. Solid and holding up fine through the beating I give my truck. No signs of corrosion. Prolly won't be back on the forum anytime soon so...if you are thinking of buying one I can only say that the peace of mind alone is worth the purchase price and mounting is super easy. Bye

Any updates on these? I have to drop my tank and I may ditch my mangled stock skid for this one.
