New Product! RSI SmartCap

Does it sit level with the height of the cab? I have prinsu rack on my cab and a bed rack, but am thinking about making the switch to this bad boy. For the sake of consistency I would want to throw a prinsu rack on top of it, but would want it to be level with the one on my cab.
Also, what's the total weight?

I am wanting to know if the Prinsu Top Rack is compatible with the tracks on these things. I would imagine they are. I just ordered the 6’ Evo for my taco, I can’t wait! Only $800 more than the “spec’d” ARE i nearly pulled the trigger on and no where near as many features... I’m so happy I came across this post

 

@OffroadAlliance.com do you have any information on the bed RSI bed replacement system being released this year? Curious if the projected $6500 is just the flat bed, or if that includes the SmartCapXL. Also would love to know the overall weight and if the factory tow hitch is retained?

The midsize flat bed is $6495 and the midsize XL cap is $5495. The XL cap itself weighs around 215 pounds. We'll see if we can find out how much the flat bed portion weighs and about the OEM hitch retention. The nice option here is if you get the flat bed and the cap, the cap is removeable. So add the cap to seal in the contents or pull the cap off and load your four wheeler. The rear tire carrier is adjustable to accomodate up to two various size tires.

 

Nice! We were there too! That thing is bad ass! Love their storage of the fold away table. Great use of otherwise wasted space.

 

I'm also curious about the questions in this thread. Is this cap compatible with prinsu and if prinsu racks will be level between the cab and bed. @OffroadAlliance.com

 

Youll have to bend the prinsu tabs slightly from what I’ve read but will work. The rack will not sit level with the cab... it will be slightly taller

For all of the second gen Tacoma guys that have been asking us, the Adventure series caps for your trucks are almost here. We are now taking pre-order deposits for the Adventure series only, 5ft and 6ft beds, for the second gen trucks. The pre-order deposit is $100. This is fully refundable should you change your mind (up to the point of shipment) and the final balance will be collected approximately two weeks prior to shipment. The $100 will be applied towards the remaining balance.

Current estimate for these caps to start shipping out is late August to early September. Any chance on getting the measurement for the height of the opening from the tailgate to the cap with the rear door open? Not the interior but just the opening. Thanks in advance

We don't, but you should try the TW for sale section. Always a lot of great stuff for sale there.

 

Yes, you can run the Prinsu racks on the RSI caps. You'll need the Leer mounting feet however for installation. And no, the Prinsu racks between the cab and cap are not level. The cap will sit about an inch, maybe two higher.

 

Just put down my deposit for a second gen short bed.

The caps have yet to start shipping for the 2nd Gen so pictures are basically non-existent at this point. We'll post up any images that we receive from RSI should they send us any.

 

Do you have any customers that have built sleeping platforms with these caps?
