Spec D headlights (garbage, Do not buy) replaced bulb with H7 80W Osram Off Road bulb so I could actually see. The lights they send do not put off any light at all and it's impossible to see anything at night... TOYO Open County AT III's (smooth ride, not loud) with Matte Black 17-In. TRD PRO Wheels Plasti dipped emblems and Bull Bar (Lasted about 2 years, need to spray them again)
is this what you have on your truck now? or are these bad? From the pics, it looks like they give off more light than mine do now. Why can't we have the same lights that come in a Camry/Corolla...?!! Those put off the perfect amount of light and don't blind oncoming traffic.

Remember, the Corolla and Camry are sedans and sit significantly lower than a Tacoma - particularly a 4WD Tacoma. The same lights that work great at that height might be problematic in a higher riding vehicle. Just ask anybody with a lifted truck about the problems they have with lighting. And then there's the never ending battle with the stylists. They're more interested in things that look cool than actual performance. At least we're not still stuck in the dark ages (no pun intended) of sealed beam headlights.

I'm not saying that better factory lighting isn't possible, but many, many factors come into play.

I'm smelling what you're stepping in, but GM and Ford Trucks have their LED Projector Lighting figured out. I want that same level in my Toyota! I'm willing to pay whatever the cost. I can't see Jack at night... I need a fix for this asap.

I have basically the same lights.

I like them but they aren’t the greatest. Best bet is OEM with retrofit

Here's mine on the garage. Looks decent in pictures, but once I'm on the road, visibility is near Zero! I've adjusted them and it doesn't make it any better... I'm throwing a cheap lightbar on the front of the bull bar to be able to see on dark streets, not using when cars or coming or on the highway...

As has already been stated, just do the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade and be done with it. Trust me, it blows everything else out there totally away. Here's my 2014 Tacoma with it:

wouldn't it have been cheaper to do the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade

    harness $100
    bulbs $14

not sure why anyone would put HID's on an off road truck for the crisp cutoff to bounce around leaving anything above pitch black instead of a halogen that throws a lot of light out
HID's are used in street cars because they stay flat on a level paved street, and have auto leveling built into the car or a manual adjustment knob
they're also used in cars for styling due to small headlight size
big headlight size 2nd gen does not have that constraint
