Yeah. I think I may sit on the sidelines for a year before I consider buying a Ranger. I initially really wanted to trade in my Tacoma for the new Ranger.

The new OEM tune fixed a lot of my issues with the Tacoma, and the Ecoboost I4 has some issues.

I was just jivin' ya. In looking at your signature, I really like the '88 Hilux diesel. I drove those in Fiji, well before we had double cabs here in the States. The issue we face is our diesel emissions regulations. That leads to reticence in buying a Chevy Duramax 4 cyl or anything. I wish it were different.

Cars.com recently test drove the new Ford Ranger in one of the first published test drives:

    https://www.cars.com/articles/we-te...nger-%E2%80%94-and-you-can-too-1420703520759/

"During our short test drive — on which we were treated to a relatively smooth and sturdy ride on the road — we were surprised at how good the overall visibility was all around the vehicle (benefiting from large rearview mirrors), as well as how quick to respond the 2.3-liter inline-four-cylinder engine with 10-speed transmission was when we put our foot to the floor."

Really curious what the MPG ratings will come out to with the 2.3-liter inline four!

Someone took this photo at one of the Ranger test drive events. It showed it at 21.2. That's not too bad for short frequent drives during the event.

    Looks like a minivan?
    Look out Ridgeline...
Hopefully the new bronco looks less terrible.
Probably will outsell at least the Frontier.

They probably had the ignition in the run position instead of start position. It was on but they didn't start it completely. You get certain lights on before completely starting a vehicle.

That is the worst gauge cluster. Had it in my 16 Edge. Hated it with a passion. I will never buy a Ford if it has that cluster in it.

Put the key in your truck and turn it to the on position and your check engine light will be on.

dude it's the worst. the color palette is just horribly on top of the digital tachometer is so delayed. you can if you want see realtime mpg but then the tach is some funky bar graph, white on light blue. you can't read it for shit.

sad too is they have better clusters like in the limited explorer they could use but instead they keep pushing this ugly ass shit that is a horrible waste of space and just poorly designed. That design is from early 2012 i think.

I tried watching it in those test drives they're doing all over the country right now and I thought
it looked like a clusterfuk, can't imagine trying to actually make use out of it.
