    Just found out Toyota is coming out with a recall for the leaf springs on 2005-2011 4x4 and pre- runners. For the leaf spring breaking and possibly puncture the fuel tank.

    Thats interesting. My friend and I both had our leaf springs snap and then gouge the side of the gas tank. This was years ago and Toyota would do nothing but offer to sell me new leaf springs. I always thought it was really dangerous and that Toyota should have done something about it.

    My tanks got deep gouges and my leafs never broke....now think about that one for a second :(

    Ive also seem many instances where people with gas tank skids get them caught up on the leaf springs and rip the hangers off. This is a well known issue and one of the reasons I never mounted mine until I got new leafs on. I know I have to modify the leaf pack and skid because I don't need issues later on.

    Wonder if they will let me trade in my old TSB springs :rofl:

    If true, the fix will probably be to just wrap the spring in bailing wire to prevent the broken end from slipping out of the pack and causing damage.
