I don't think this a recall. But rather a warranry enchantment of the particular parts effecting the vibration issues

I had the driveshaft replaced on my 2008 under the 60k powertrain warranty in 2011. Took it in due to vibration around 60mph, they through in a complete assembly the next day, no questions asked.

I also had this done but did not fix the issue. I gave up on my local dealership after that.

The rear shaft was replaced back in 2011 before I had done any mods.

It fixed mine. I generally don't trust dealerships, but Valley Hi Toyota in Victorville has been a pleasant surprise. As was mentioned by @gearcruncher , this is likely related to no grease added after assembly, and Valley Hi greased the new one right off the bat.

Has anyone attempted to bring it in to the dealership even with a lift yet?

I'd be interested in hearing about the lifted trucks being covered also.

It says in the fine print
"This coverage is subject to the same terms and conditions set forth in the New Vehicle Limited Warranty Section of your Owners Warranty Information booklet. For example, damage from abuse, an accident, theft and/or vandalism is not covered"

Doesn't say anything about modification to the suspension.
I found everything except my owners warranty info booklet. Mustve tossed it years ago?
    Anybody still have theirs?

The other u joints are still fine but that last one on the rear diff was beyond shot when I replaced it the first time.

Service bulletins are just that a bulletin there is nothing to be honored anywhere if your dealer decides to honor it under warranty or just being good natured then good on them. TSBs are used even in the independent shops to help diagnose issues that manufacturers have recognized as a normal fault for said problem. The only thing by law manufacturers are required to have recalls on are Safety related items. Certain things are grey areas for safety and manufacturers choose to go ahead and issue a recall. Other non safety related recalls or extended warranties on vehicles are completely up to the discretion of the manufacturer now most choose to go ahead and issue them just to save face from a class action lawsuit or bad rap for not taking care of issues that are on a large scale if there is a large enough scale of affected vehicles. Before the wide spread internet most people never knew about TSBs they are a diagnostic tool so to speak for technicians and just because the TSB describes the issue at hand it still may not be that causing the problem it is a place to start or place of reference. Here is an example I had a dodge in one time with CEL pointing with many codes for bad O2 sensor faulty CAT etc. There was a TSB for replacing the O2 sensors and flashing (new program) the ECU. Well the issue was a squirrel or rodent got in there and chewed the wires. But the vehicle presented itself like the TSB described. I hope that clears some things up.

On a side note I hope I'll get all new stuff from this warranty program because replacing all the U-joints and carrier bearing are on my need to replace list for maintenance purposes as well as the fronts.

    Is ur truck lifted?
    Good luck either way.

Yeah this is a "Customer Support Program- ZH2"
It applies specifically to the prop shaft u joints -if- the condition is verified and "in limited instances the prop shaft may be replaced if damaged due to the universal joint condition described above"

So sounds to me like u joints and -if- the u joint failed to the point it damaged ur driveshaft like mine almost did then u also get a new driveshaft.

I guess we wont know for sure until someone with a lift takes theirs in.
I'll do it but not right away.
    I have until 4/30/2019

I cant afford a diagnostic bill right now if they deny me because of a lift.

I would look around for another dealer in your area that is better. The one near me all the techs and service guys drive lifted tacomas, t4rs, FJCs, and older FJs, so yeah they are pretty friendly to modified vehicles. Since I stopped turning wrenches and now live in an apt. I can't easily work on my own stuff so for some things I take mine to them and they have been top notch.

The dealer has been great i would highly recommened them.
Im not saying if they would or wouldnt, i dont know.
ive just been burned before where i didnt read the fine print on a boat i bought, the guy wrote in a service/warranty contract and when i took it in the next season for a reccomended service visit i got a $300 bill to change the oil, spark plugs and check the lower unit fluid level.

The owners warranty info booklet isnt available as a download from toyota....maybe a different year...

Call and ask them to make 100% sure. BTW you will always get hosed with a boat new or used. A boat owner is happiest the day they buy it and the day they sell it, I believe that's the saying.

Toyota will wait until someone's driveshaft falls out and they die in a crash, then issue a recall.
