They both function identically it's just personal preference on the finish of the gas springs. The QuickLIFT PLUS is the most popular as it looks the most OEM.

 

4 years? Seems they should last longer than that.

Does this address the hood rattle people are complaining

 

They'll last 33% longer than the rest of the truck, as Toyota's warranty is 3 years.

 

not having the fake hood scoop helps the most

 

is the scoop rattling, or the entire hood?

 

Unfortunately, it doesn't. The rattle/shake is caused by lack of adhesion between the hood frame and exterior skin.

 

Although the struts look like a nice product. Wonder if Toyo would disclaim all issues related to the hood (under warranty) if you add an aftermarket item. My gut tells me, they would.

 

It's a bolt on product, if you want to claim that, just remove the struts before taking it to the dealer
