    Did you make sure you installed the shim plates?
    They actually will help to prevent rotor warping.

    If he used Oem pads, I hope he did. Otherwise theyre not needed with aftermarket pads.

    I have aftermarket pads and my rotors would wrap.
    I put the shime plates on and now no more wrapping.

    Yes, I went through two sets of rotors in one year same company same part number.

    Then I put the shimes on and zero warping two years later with EBC green stuff pads

    Seriously good to know. All in all I imagine you're happy with the EBC stuff? You've driven lots of miles in these trucks so your opinion counts lol what other brake combos you run before? Results?

    using brake pad shims or not wont cause warping, warping is caused buy overheating the brakes and having the pad material glaze the rotors, basically riding the brakes or aggressive braking

    I could see having shims or not having a difference in heat build up and dissipation. I don't know everything, that's about the only thing I've learned over the last 20 years.

    Well it worked for me and the company of the rotors told me that if I didn’t have the shimes I would have a higher chance of warping.
    It worked for me and I have 600,000 miles of driving time, so I will continue to use them. There’s a reason these heat shields were actually made for ours trucks.
    Maybe my truck needs them and your doesn’t, but it fixed my problem.

    what is the expected lifetime on rear drums (assuming largely highway miles, (little wear and tear)
    was going to see about powdercoating the drums on mine so they look sharp :D
    but not sure if I should just do that on new drums

    I’m still on my original set of brake shoes on the rear at 600,000 miles.
    The front pads take most all the wear

    My truck has 295,000 miles (+/-). I've changed the rear shoes twice. This last time I changed the drums as well. (the original drums were replaced at about 260,000 miles)
