Yeah, I would like to see one next to copper to compare. I think the coppers are brighter and the brushed bronze can pick up a grey hue depending on the lighting.

Going with Nitto's myself. Wanted a skinny 33. Wish the STT was available in 255/80r17. But no dice.

Fairly new to the idea of running 255/80/17 what's the Pro's and Cons vs a 285/70/17 (other then wider)?

FYI, just received my shipment ordered on the 7th. That was much faster than I anticipated. I live in WA, so it was far, but not super far.

LO, I'm in the "super far" grouping. Still surprised with how great the service has been, expected delivery is Tuesday, all the way down here in Florida. I wasn't even expecting them to START shipping until a week or so.

There is a nice thread on it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-skinny-on-skinny-tires.529656/

The expedition west link is dead, but I've found it and read it before. It just goes into some of the more technical/arcane aspects of tire choice, and the list on the above link mentions the high points.

I am on road a lot, I have a vehicle allowance and this is my work truck as well as my personal truck. So I wanted something that wouldn't murder my MPG (skinnies do a bit better), or my acceleration (lighter tires). At the same time I wanted 33" height minimum for my personal pursuits. There is a lot of debate out there, but I've found enough sources that like skinny tires for everything except some specific situations where you need flotation. The Nitto provides an aggressive hybrid terrain that has good road manners and doesn't howl at freeway speeds. I'll post my thoughts when I get them on the above thread, seeing as the skinny is a newer size for that tire.

That surprised me as well. Based on when they said shipping would be. I'll be in Miami next week, so you'll probably have yours mounted before I do!

I'm hoping to have em mounted next weekend for sure. Gonna try (and cross fingers I don't get bad batch) to throw on some 265/75R16 Wildpeaks (PLEASE let them balance easily). Can't wait to see how she looks afterwards.

Good luck! Do those tend to have balance issues?

Hit or miss, tons of posts saying folks had issues (went through multiple tires to balance), while some got perfect balance on first try. Pretty much a lottery like any other tire, it's just been voiced so I'm hoping no issues. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Haha yeah I've been following that thread as well. I use to be on the road a lot. Now I work from home so the truck barely gets driven.

I currently have 265/70/17 wildpeaks with 80% thread left on the stock wheels. Debating if i should just swap them out and put it on the new Ray 10s....or just go with 285/70/17 on the new wheels and keep the stocks as spares

I know that feeling, I kept telling myself to just wait until I wear the stock rubber down to buy new tires and mount...but for me that could take forever. I'm just sucking it up and buying new tires for the new wheels. My stocks have less than 1k miles on them, maybe I could sell them....to some fool who actually wants stock SR5 rims. XD

Finally mounted up and couldnt be happier. The tire guys were amazed at the quality and how easy they balanced. Thanks SCS!
