Thanks for the input.. I’m leaning toward your side. Doesn’t sound like copper will be available. Hopefully that doesn’t mean gold won’t either. Are yours gold or copper?

Mine are gold, but I think copper or gold would look pretty good although copper will have a little more of a red tint to it. I have seen some guys have been selling off their copper ones and I believe there are some dealerships who have the copper rays in stock at the moment in cali.

Another thing I will say is gold typically takes a minute to sell out from SCS cause its a loud color and not many want to go for it so you have a good chance of scooping them up next time they release. Might be worth putting out an ad and see if anyone wants to sell theirs? I actually picked all 5 of mine up from a member in Texas when I was there for temp work, the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

@Booty Freak go gunmetal like Rob said. I had this whole black and white theme aka stormtrooper going on mine and loved my black on mine but then just like Rob said, I see black EVERYWHERE. Had to change it up and at least do a subtle gunmetal. Really like the copper and bronze but it was too big of a jump for my white truck. If it’s worth it to you, sometimes I look at my truck with my black wheels and it looks like I’m running on spare rims imo. Plus now I have some blue things on my truck so I guess I went away with the black and white theme.

Very true man, I remember I went nuts on black rims back in the 2007-2008 era cause you never saw them besides steelies. I think now a days black is on half the tacos and to me it really kills the details and aesthetics that really make the rays unique and special vs the lighter colors.

Yup you can barely tell what rims they are sometimes so some color would give the perfect contrast to show off these wheels vs hiding/blending the details.

Nice.. copper and gold looks really close in pics, I was waiting for the coppers but when I saw the Golds are available, I snagged them right away... they are a bit more yellowish but they should look good on my cement!

Yea, honestly, I have not seen the Copper, Gold or Bronze wheels on a Taco color that I didn't like. To me though, the same goes for any of the other wheel colors, including black. Some are more catchy than others but I honestly don't think there is a wrong choice. The Taco is already a special looking truck and by deciding to buy one you have already proven that the kid in you still remembers playing with Hot Wheels and Tonka Toys. Owning a Taco is enough to make you a little edgy. Different wheel styles and colors are just another way to make the truck yours and are an extension of your personality in accomplishing that.

I am older than most of Tacoma owners (I think) so I can really appreciate the classics. I'm also a kid at heart and really get into modding. Being a motor head and a techy kinda nerd has allowed me to stay on top of the ever changing automobile industry. I can appreciate the modern side of things. I have always been one to accept the evolution of automobile design. Some people just never will.

I think that's why I like these wheels so much. They are modern versions of classics I grew up with as a kid. Back in the day Slots were the shit! Think Starsky & Hutch and the sweet ass Ford Torino. That was an icon. Then trucks started running them to be cool too. Eventually the slots turned into holes. Those were race track (1/4 mile) approved! So for me, the holes pattern has always been a favorite. SCS takes that design to a new level by bending the hole over a ridge half way between the inner and outer diameters. Then they change the thickness of the wheel and chamfer the outer edge of the hole which creates a tear drop effect. This is dead sexy for a guy my age. In the old days, they just punched a hole through and it was the same thickness. Again, back in the day, it was the be all. But now, phhhttt, please.

If all you ever did was put the Copper, Gold or Bronze Ray 10's on and left everything else stock, you would still be that one and only guy at the drive-in burger joint with those bad ass unique wheels. Yes, the other colors are the same design, it's just a little harder to see the subtle design queues that make them special.

I get stopped for questions everywhere I go. And if I see someone checking them out and they don't come over and ask questions, I know they are just jealous.

Put whatever color wheels you want on whatever color Taco you have and then own that shit! That's what we do!

You and me both... Got the Ray10s coppers on my rig now, the SR8 waiting for rubber to be mounted on to the FJ, and also got the Tundra 18" Ray10s in a dark bronze.

Dark bronze looks good with any color, especially blue (of any shade).

That’s why blue jeans go with everything.

Except navy (says the wife, who is wrong).
