    It is for your differentials so that they don’t suck in water in a 1 in 500 chance you cold soak them.

    I think I'm about to order this. Just had a little scare with some water and this is the cleanest looking snorkel out there IMO. I really like how you wrapped it. Never thought of that..

    "Any competent CFD engineer would tell you the absolute worst place possible for an air intake is in a high velocity low pressure zone"

    This is not true. You need to consider the stagnation pressure. The freestream flow has relatively low pressure high velocity and would be the most desirable place for a snorkel air wise. I doubt the viscous losses of flow approaching a snorkel over the vehicle are greater than of the snorkel internal diameter.
