    Hey Taco Truckers,
This afternoon I hopped into my truck, started up, drove a bit, then my radio rebooted without asking. When it came back it said that the New Software was not compatible. What new software. I didn't tell it to load new software. Further, when it came back bluetooth was dead. I did restart it again, it told me again that the new software was not compatible, but at least the bluetooth was back. Then it told me I had to reconnect the Entune App to download radio apps to the unit. OK, did that, but it now tells me the software is incompatible and that I have to download apps every time. WTF?

    Hopefully it's still under warranty.

You might want to try the firmware update? See the link in here:

factory side step, didn't get a chance to do anything to it yet, haven't even got to put it in 4 wheel mode yet. Lame, but I work a lot.
Did you try to sign in though your phone? that might be a good place to start? Perhaps a firmware update?

Yes, I tried to do the firmware update. The version that is available from Toyota is 1014C, according to customer service, though I don't find that number in the file name "13TDANNA-DA11_0146.kwi". The version that is "installed" is 1018C. I tried anyway, but the software update screen does not recognize the USB stick. Or at least it will not let me update.

Hey staplegun, did you lose your clock too?

I've just been living with it for three years. But I'm getting tired of it again. I haven't tried the link above yet, but I did read that incompatibility it is talking about is between the FW and map data. Though the GPS seems to work just fine, with the exception of the clock disappearing.

I just located a 2GB stick, which may be dead, and I'm going to reformat it to FAT32. I got a 3D printer for Xmas. "So what," I hear you cry. Well, I had to update the firmware on it and one of the requirements was that the update media had to be formatted with 4096 byte sectors. And the media had to be freshly formatted, and the file had to be the first thing on said media. Lots of requirements that the manufacturer didn't mention, but the community had discovered. Not saying the Taco is the same deal, but there may be more to it than FAT32, 2GB.

Reader's Digest version, wrote a scathing letter to CEO Toyota NA. Was called back by executive assistant, informed of problem and after conveying issue to her I was able to get a 'new' (read refurb) unit for $140. This is slightly condensed.
