    yea, its prolly a early 2000's model was in my gfs escort b4 i got totalled, its a pioneer if my memory serves me right, green display and buttons

    it would work if u can solder, or u could get a connector to make it just plug and play

    kinda what im gonna try and avoid. thanks mtho man. im gonna look into some hu's and see what i can find...ones that will hook right up in my truck..........and i need speaker info too.

    all the HUs are going to need another cable to make them plug and play
    speakers i like infinity but they dont have alot of bass, they have nice highs tho

    Go to Crutchfield.com it will ask you for your vehicle info you type it in and it will then tell you which speakers will/won't fit in your Taco.. Basically though they use this function based off of their install kits. I think any 6 1/2 speaker will fit with a top mount of 3 1/4" or lessin the front and back and I think a 3 1/4' top mount depth will fit in the front also. So look at teh specs on the speakers there and you should be able to see what will/won't fit.

    Will if u go to Bestbuy just ask them for the cable that will connect the HU to ur truck and they will have it, just have to know which HU brand youll be using

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    u can also get the basic wiring harnesses from vatozone too. sometimes crutchfield will have deals where the sell the dash kit and wiring harness together.

    damn......startin to sound like its more work than its worth.

    so......i'll need new speakers, a new hu(possibly),the wiring harness for plug and play.....anything else?? will i need speaker mounts like what ********* has??

    im looking on crutchfield now......shows what will fit...head unit and speakers. i may end up ordering from them.....just waiting on mr. marv to pm me back.

    what is the difference between a 2 way speaker and a 3 way speaker? im trying to get a full grasp on all this.
