I'm a bit slower than others...Are you all saying that all you need to bring the front end up by 1.75" is the adjustable shocks, no other mods (ie longer brake lines, springs, etc.)?

You can run the 5100s with the stock coils but I've heard (not first hand experience) that when you set them to 1.75 or 2.5, you don't have as much down travel (think I got that right) so the ride is a little rougher.

Many run the 5100s with OME or ToyTec coils. I ordered the 5100s from DownSouth and ToyTec coilovers to replace the stock coils.

There's a guy in this thread that says that when the dealer did the TSB, they installed new front springs and spacers leveling out the front. All at N/C. Also, if you read the TSB, it says that on non-TRD models, the dealer will install front and rear shocks. Some in the above link say for Non-TRD models, the TSB shocks are Blistein. Makes me wonder if my recent purchase of the 5100's to level out the front was wasted money. Anyone to comment?

No the 5100's were not a waste of money. The bilstein shocks they put on with the TSB are not adjustable and will not level out the truck.

I installed the front leveling spacers in my non TRD 08 DBL cab. They installed the rear leaf springs, Rear Bilstein shocks as well as front springs and Bilstein shocks and they swapped over the spacer free of charge. The truck rides excellent and sits perfectly level. I suppose I could have saved myself the trouble and handed them the spacers but they were easy to install and I didint want to pay anything. To make a long story short, I got a NON TRD upgraded to full TRD suspension a better ride , a leveled out truck and alignment free..Im okay with it:D

The Bilstein shocks they put on the truck are the same as those that came on the TRD packages. They're not 5100s.

I bought the all four shocks (rear and front) via Downsouth Motorsports. Are the TRD rears also different than the rears in the 5100 package?
