I would agree oil companies profits are high. However in "normal" times they would have reinvested those profits into the business (ie: drilling etc) to reduce the gross profit picture. Since costs to reinvest are high, due to inflation and government intervention policies, permitting, et al, it does not make ROI sense at this time to turn the money in that manner. Therefore RECORD PROFITS becomes the buzzword.

Pfft. If you're not getting at least 65 MPG, you're just wasting gas!

Yes. I get an average of 25 MPG on the highway ever since winter ended here. I stay slightly under 65mph.

    9.1 L/100km is closer to 26 MPG)

Yeah I've been getting the same in my 2022 trd off road. Only mods I've done have been roll up bed cover and trd air filter. Managed to get 27 on a highway trip last week

Another day in the 3rd gen forum, where people one up each other showing pictures of short trips with no context of the road as though going downhill is an indication of vehicle performance.

    Happy Friday!

When I had my 16 I got between 19-25.1 depending on conditions it used more in wind. My 19 never did better than 19.1. This one gets between 19.5 - 24.9

Yep. It's stupid but I get sucked into these regardless. AT 25mpg you should have the low fuel light turn on at 452 miles on the tank. At that point you can reset a trip odometer because you have another 75 miles before empty since it comes on with 3 gals left in the tank. If you want to play it safe you should fuel with 500 miles on that tank of gas knowing that it would go 527.5 to complete empty.

So, anyone want to honestly run their truck to 500 miles and then post the pics of the odometer at fill up and then at the next one before refueling?

I knew my gas milage would take a hit when I put on 17" trd wheels and 275/70 AT tires. I ain't hitting anywhere near 500 miles to a tank lol

A week ago I filled the tank and drove a 90 mile trip to Wildwood, NJ. This is what the onboard MPG thingie said. Accurate? I am not sure but since it only had a few miles on it I was doing the break in thing driving like a half dead retired 20220505_125204.jpg 98 year old school Marm!
