New SR5 wheels?

LOVE this alloy on the SR5s, wish I would have held out and got them.....

 

I still have the factory silver alloys on my truck, once i get the dark satin wheels put on i will be selling the silver alloys and giving someone a great deal

 

As soon as my tires wear out on my SR witch won't be long ( I have 46,000 on them now) I will be putting them on my TRD with new rubber. I think I am going to stick with 265 /70/16's. But still have some time like a month or two if I am lucky. I have to buy one new satin wheel because I had a tire shop patch the tire and they scratched the wheel. It was a local tire shop and he said he would pay for it but he wanted the old wheel. I have not decided on if I want it for a spare or not yet and just pay for it my self. or see if he would just split the price of the wheel with me.

 

My SR5 came with them as well

 

Any new info on the dark alloys coming in on peoples' SR5 trucks lately?

 

How do you like those tires? Truck looks good.

 

What's the part number on the wheels I can't seem to find them ? Any deals going on ???

Discount Tire did my swap. Then I had to have the dealer "learn" everything all over again. They still are not right after the first rotation. I know that something is working, because the yellow dash light is out. Just no corner readouts.

The light works on start up. I haven't tried a low pressure situation. Also, when I do the reset, it blinks 3 times as advertised.

Yes they do. The OR wheels for the 16 are hideous. I know I had them and couldn't get rid of them fast enough. These actually look good.

 

1st I've seen these. I'll have to keep any eye out for take off set for my 2nd Gen. I kinda like them

 

I got after market sensors for the steel wheels I already owned for my snow tires, my local tire shop read each of the OEM sensors code and programmed the code into each of the aftermarket sensors, then reset the TPMS and they work fine. The first time they programmed them we had the stock wheels inside the shop and the scanner picked up one of the OEM sensors twice and for 500 miles it didn't read the pressures, then the light came on, they had to break the bead on the steel wheels, remove the sensors and we kept the OEM wheels separate from the steel wheels and reprogrammed them one at a time, it was a pain to have to get the tire out of the basement and take them back, especially since it was 10F yesterday morning.

I think the steel wheel sensors and the alloy wheel sensor have a different angle of mount due to bead difference between the two types of wheels. The sensors my local shop used fit fine, you have to be careful breaking the bead and reseating the bead on the rim, it is easy to damage the sensors. My local tire shop is a second generation shop, the owner's Dad and Uncle started the business after WWII, he took over the shop from them and has been working there since he was big enough to lift tires, his nephew works with him now, hopefully one day he takes over when my friend retires and keep the same high standard of service up. It is nice to take your stuff somewhere and not worry about problems, and if they do, they take care of them without filing a claim form, handshake and a gentlemans agreement. Surely you can find an independent shop to get sensors from for a decent price, I had mine done for $80 more than what your dealer was charging for one wheel, $200 for all 4 wheels, but I've been doing business with my tire shop for 25yrs, and I get all my tire work and a good bit of maintenance work done there. As long as the shop has the tools to scan and read the sensors it shouldn't be a problem, it's hard for independent shops these days due to all the electronics on cars, you constantly have to upgrade scanner and readers and it isn't cheap.

 

Definitely like those more than the TRD OR wheels.

 

I'm bummed that you can't get them on the regular SR anymore. I know you can buy them seperate, but at double of what they used to offer them for from the factory

 

I have a 16' SR5 and my rims look exactly like these.

 

I've got these on mine and I like them alot. I plan on keeping them on for a long time.

 

Just replaced my silver alloy wheels with the dark satin alloy wheels, looks much better to me
