My 16' SR5 came with the silver alloys. I like the dark satin better and they sure look good on your Tacoma. Oh well, when I trade for an 18' or 19' I will get a different set. But, after 13 months and 13K (and all the mods I did at the beginning), I just get in it and drive it. I don't give the truck much thought until I see neat stuff on TW.

I didn't do my homework so i did not realize the dark satin wheels were an option on the 16' SR5 or i would have got them instead of the silver alloys. I paid $800 for the set of 4 dark satin wheels, hoping i can sell my 4 silver alloys for $300 to recoupe a little of the money. I think im done with mods for a while .. it can get costly in a hurry

Does anyone have any info on how well the darker painted rims hold up? I have a '17 SR5 DCLB and I wish I had asked for the dark grey rims. Might buy a set, with more aggressive tires.

I have only had them for four Thousand miles but they look great they excel at hiding break dust

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I am sort of thinking of selling mine -- I did order them with my SR5. They were a no-cost change on the v6 4x4 SR5. I just can't get used to the darker look of them. A previous poster said they hide brake dust well -- that is very true. When they are dirty -- they don't look that way.
Call me old fashioned if you will but I am looking at finding some barely used or "take-offs in the Tacoma sport wheels or the Off-road 4runner wheels. I was sort of hoping for somewhere around a "even" cash outlay.
I know the wheels I am looking at are 17's and mine are 16's. They way both wheels come factory equipped there is minimal difference in size. The 16's are actually a tiny bit taller than the 17's --that was a surprise for me

    UPDATE:
I have sold the wheels and tires

I’m doing the same thing. My stepdad and I are swapping wheels. I ha e the same truck you do and he just bought a white SR5. He likes the TRD off Road wheels and I like his, so we agreed to swap.
