It shouldn't hurt anything. Just might need to adjust your headlights back up a little.

Yes, but it should not sit 7/8" lower after the correct new struts are installed properly. In fact if anything, it should sit a bit higher until things settle in. Pics and part numbers?

Did you get 5100's with the adjustable spring perches? Are you on the lowest notch with stock springs? Did you forget the trimpacker or top hat bushings? Did you get the wrong model of struts?

His old springs look llike they have a bigger gap between the coils, maybe a softer spring was used on the new monroes.

That’s what I’m thinking. Let’s see what he says.

pics and part numbs are up now - thanx
softer springs must b the issue . As far as the gap between coils -i saw that slight difference when i compared old to new ,before i installed . I laid the old assembly next to the new , and the length looked identical. The gap is more noticeable in pics because the old ones , laying on ground , dont have the load on them. The old strut has ( what i,ll refer to as count ) 8 coils , The new have 9 . And going back to the pictures on advance auto , of the strut I purchased , they have 8 coils , identical to the take-offs . i remeasured height now , and it sets a full inch lower. the parts store is going to hate me - very soon . again - monroe roadmatic -the part # is 181371 L or R for other side -- installed on 2010 -4wd -4cyl. -5 spd -xtend cab -SR5- not trd ====HEY ALL -lets make side-bets on how this turns out ....(((or maybe i should refer to it as how hard i get screwed by advance auto)))) and yep , should have spent the nickel and put toyota factory parts here...

u asked , and now you shall receive...( highlighted instructions is why i measured ) I thought -for sure- it was going to sit higher , replacing struts with 110 k miles on them ---- kinda "shocked" at results,,, ( pun intended ) .now sits 1 inch lower .2 days after install , will it sit 1.5 inches lower after a few thousand miles , and a few hundred ohio pot-holes ?

If you are keeping what you have and want to be a little taller, you can always install 1 inch spacers.

This is so weird you lost almost an inch with new shocks and springs.... I'm on my 4th set. OEM black tokkiko, tsb Bilsteins, brainfart on the 3rd set brand. Begins with E and it's not Eibach.and now 5100s. I never lost height.

With the 5100s, I found a set of 3rd gen coils cheap, and installed an Icon 3 leaf aal. This set up gave me an inch up front and 1.5" in the rear. I figured with over 300k on the coils, they're tired by now.
