I installed some 6112’s and noticed the driver side only squeaks over small bumps at high and low speeds. Set at 11/9. Could the top bolt above the bushing be too tight?

Its kind of faint but its when the front wheels go over the speed bump. Volume up haha

FWIW for any noobs like me, loosened the top nut on the front shocks a couple turns since it looked tighter then the pass side and sprayed a little silicone lubricant on each bushing and where the sway bar pivots. Squeak be gone. Didn't think it would squeak for new suspension...

my fox shocks have been squeaking ever since I had them installed. Apparently I gotta lube them up (giggity)

Grab the shock and wiggle it. If its the bushing you will hear it. Every few months i pull the bushing and clean it. It gets dirt in there that makes a squeak against the shock mount.

Could you elaborate on this please ? Are you saying loosen each nut slightly on the top perimeter, spray silicone in the stud and then retighten ?
Is there a torque spec ?

    TIA :drunk:

No, the top single bolt on the end of the shock. The squeak came back but I sprayed more lube in there and its been gone... hopefully for good.

Now ive got a new loud squeak/ clank, only when going over a speed bump at 15 mph or faster ( I did some squeak testing) Hopefully it's audible... its after the first speed bump. This cant be normal? thanks for any advice or comments in advance.

You mentioned loosening the top nut on the shock as it looked like it was clamped down more than the passenger side. Try tightening it a little more. That bushing compresses quite a lot and it is possible you have loosened it enough it is moving around which it should not be. Not very loud but you might also see if your sway bar might be tapping your coil (would see a mark on the coil). Some have had that issue after a lift if they did not use a relocation bracket. Could also be one of the front radiator core support bushings have worn through which is something to check. I would also just double check all the bolts torque specs on the suspension parts up front to make sure something else has not worked it way loose.

I had a squeak in the cab when hitting small bumps, my truck was still pretty new. Turned out i found it by accident when moving the articulating steering wheel. I sprayed a bunch of heavy duty silicon in there. The noise has never come back.

I couldnt hear anything in the video. Check the front body mounts also. Had mine replace with 8000 miles on the truck. The rubber on the passenger side was almost completely collapsed. It made a sound similar to a turkey call going over small bumps at slow speed, or when turning left.

That's the bolt that holds the whole shock together.
    I have Fox 2.0's.
BTW you never want to unbolt that bolt unless you know what you are doing, extremely dangerous.
Nonetheless I don't see how penetrant got down between the threads to lube that rubber spacer. I tried lubing everything up there but can't seem to get to the area with the issue without a complete removal and diassembly. I think a strut from Walmart would be better.
I have some Fox 2.0 struts and they have to come off because the squeak is f****** annoying.
Fox CSR's on the phone were clueless and no help, a google search of the issue yielded better results. I could tell they were hiding something in not telling me what they know.

I've got a ball joint on my sway bar that loves making a racket after a car wash or long offroad trips. I shoot it with a little tri-flow once every 5 or 10 fill ups otherwise I really sound like an old jalopy driving through the neighborhood. I blame it on getting buried to the frame in a Playa years ago. It took a while to figure out where it was coming from. At first I shot all of the moving joints with lube and then waited for it to come back. finally figured it out through process of elimination.

I think the loud creek on impacts is my sway bar hitting the coil… at articulation the coil is about 5 mm away from the sway bar… thinking about the sway bar relocation… also wondering if the coil hitting could be do to an improper alignment…?

You were right. Finally got around to tinkering with it. Everything is buttery smooth now and zero mystery clanks or noises… it’s always little things that f me up lol.

It was YouTube’s fault lol. Nah, I’m an idiot… the lock nut was not tightened down enough on both passenger and driver side. I initially tightened it while the truck was jacked up… thought it was good. everything is almost 50% more smooth of a ride. Also snugged the rear 5160’s… night and day difference, I almost wanted to try different shocks lol. :anonymous::smash:
