New Taco in NorCal.

Hey,

Been lurking here for a while but never posted. I spend most of my time on bimmerforums since that's where I started out.

Anyways. I'm 20, I'm a mechanic here in Northern California. I just picked up a 2013 tacoma sr5 4x4 DCSB back in November from my local dealer that a good friend of mine is a salesman at. My other car is my weekend racecar, an s52 swapped 90' BMW 325i. (Has the engine from a 98 BMW m3). One of the things that pulled me towards a tacoma other than the looks and driving my friends 08 tacoma a lot, was the possibility of towing my BMW if I decide to make it a dedicated track car.

So far I love the truck. With my BMW, my gf's corrolla and slk and my tacoma, I've only put 2500 miles on it since November. Lurking the forums though, I've decided to go for a small lift and some 265/75/16 duratracs for then I go up to play in Tahoe and snowboard.

Other plans are some black step bars, a color matched grill and vinyl black rear bumper, and mirrors.

A couple issues I have so far though:

-the transmission can't ever make up its mind. It shifts and downshifts constantly and is kind of annoying.
-upon hard or full exceleration, there is a weird vibration from the engine tranny area. I want to look into different mounts.
-the stock tires are scary in the snow. (Dunlops)


Things I like:

-Very comfortable ride for a truck, especially on these awful awful roads.
-The Bluetooth connectivity, hands free, and music streaming works great.
-the in truck storage is awesome
-gas mileage is pretty good. 19-20mpg all the time.

Only mods so far are plasti dipping the stock wheels and getting a nice receiver ball and Lockpin:
