I've been lurking around TacomaWorld for a while researching Tacomas before actually buying. Had to register also to be able see the great pics posted here. I got such great info and ideas from the TacomaWorld community, I had to share the results.

Finally traded in the old 1997 Ford F-150 4x4 using the cash for clunkers program (yeah I know , I'll save the political commentary) for a new 2009 Super White Double Cab 4x4 with the TRD Off-Road package. Here she is before the kids and I inflict our wear and tear...

Had the stealership debadge the bed decals since I prefer the clean look. Also had him add some tint and some other nicies that I didn't want to mess with myself. Luckily the stealership had a relationship with Vinyl Top Specialists who's work I had known. So from the advice of a couple TacomaWorld threads, I had them use VTS to install a Webasto Hollandia sunroof and Katzkin leather seats. I'm very happy with the results :p...

I also had the dealer install the TRD catback exhaust. My jury is still out this decision. It sounded ricey at first, but the sound seems be getting deeper over time. Looks good though...

I've also put in an oem bed mat, the EZ Clamp Tailgate Theft Prevention System (TM) ;), and I just installed a Dynolock today (not bad). Ordered a Fold A Cover G4 Elite bed cover, but it arrived with a little shipping damage. :( Hopefully will get that resolved soon so I can stick some gear in the bed with protection.

I have been watching the discussions regarding the rear leaf TSB. Checked my taco and I do have matching part numbers. Also got the yellow door jamb sticker reducing payloada by 2.00 pounds.:confused::p For now, I have decided against pursuing the TSB. I think I would rather a plush ride for the majority of the time I do drive. I'm sure those honey-do's are going to hurt when watching her squat. Maybe I'll just take multiple trips bringing everything home from the Home Depot in the taco.:burnrubber:

Future ideas include new stereo headunit and speakers, a GrilleCraft grill insert, some Billys up front to level her out, mudflap removal, and maybe some nerf bars for Mrs. Pokeng and the kiddos. :D

All said, I am enjoying my taco very much. Special thanks goes out to all of the TacomaWorld users who I've drawn ideas from, there are too many of you to list. This site is truly a great resource. :)

Thanks for the kind words. The sunroof is really great. I was shocked to learn it wasn't available from the factory, but I'm glad I went ahead and did it aftermarket style. The dealer charged me $900 to have it done, which probably would have been the same as what Toyota would have charged if it was an option.

    Looks great!!

Do you think that the sunroof sealed properly at the rear of the sunroof where the truck roof has the ridges? The rubber seal looks kind of "strange" where the ridges are.

    Cheers.

I wondered the same thing, but assumed a company like Webasto has it figured out. It looks like the seal is a combined rubber and silicone caulking. Here's a token crappy iphone pick:

No problem with leaks so far. Had a real Okie downpour last week (3" in ~2 hours) and all was well.
