Hey guys, this has been a loooooooooooooooong time coming. I've been lurking for the better part of 2 years now because I wanted a tacoma more than anything so to quell the need I started lurking and reading.....sad to say (well not really) it only made the desire more insatiable and yesterday i got a wild hare.

I tracked down a few tacomas within 150 miles, drove around the the different dealerships and all of them but 2 were SUPER rusty, which i had heard about being a problem. I found a clean TRD and ended up pulling the trigger on it. payed 10,900, which was the most expensive out of all the ones i looked at, but it was the cleanest....hope i didn't get ripped off, they were asking 12,000 even and i got them down to 10,900, but they probably just marked it up really high to begin with.

Glad to be here guys, looking forward to finally being a productive member of the community.

I'm already broke now! lol guess i'll have to start putting money away to fix her up. In the last 24 hours the biggest issue i've come across is who ever installed the head unit was an idiot and it's stuck in demo mode.

@tacoma guy How do you like your 2nd gen compared to the first? I was looking at a 2wd 2nd gen for the same price but couldnt bring myself to pass up the locker and 4x4 so i went with 6 years older and 30,000 more miles, hope i dont regret that!

I love both trucks. They each have things that the other didn't that I like. I had my 99 for 10 years and had it in mint condition and did all the work myself. She was my baby !! You can see her in my photo gallery. I love my 2011 for many of reasons. Its just that I feel like I'm starting over with the mods is all. But I'm enjoying her just as much as my 1st. gen. :D

Oh man, both those are sweet trucks tacoma guy, i dig the 86 too, i'd love to cruise around in that thing!

This is my first truck actually, I sold my DD which was a 2002 corvette about 6 months ago in preparation for buying a truck. Haven't done much offroading in the past, i've been outside all day driving around my property though seeing if i could get her stuck, no luck yet! I'd love to do some real trail 4x4ing though, i can already see myself getting really into to the way of life! Now to spend more on making it more trail worthy :)
