I Decontaminated the finish, then I use Griot's Garage 3 in 1 ceramic spray wax. for washing, I use their ceramic wash soap (helps maintain/recharge the ceramic properties), mixed with their brilliant shine wash soap (for bubbles, as the ceramic soap has none). for between washes, their ceramic speed shine works wonders. truck never stops beading, bugs and road grime come off EASILY.

this isnt a full on pro ceramic but, the cost reflects this. it is better than any wax only product line, I have tried. Ski

Yeah, the Griots 3 in 1 is amazing if you don't want full on coating. I'm shocked at how long it lasts being a spray on ceramic. Usually you get a month or 2. But this will last several months and beyond.

I like the simple/frequent approach. In warmer months I use my electric power wash and foam cannon. A simple rinse, then heavy foam cannon, then clean foam with microfiber mitt, rinsing as I go in a grit guard bucket, then blow dry with leaf blower, spray truck down with griots best of show detailer then dry with multiple microfiber towels. All in about 25 mins

In the winter I do touch less car wash, then drive home and do the spray down with best of show and towel dry in my garage. I do the best in show every time I wash, so while it doesn’t last long, I do it about 35 times a year. it shine and beads like crazy. I buy it by the gallon much cheaper. I have never dried the truck without spraying it with detailer, and I have no swirl mark at all after 2 years

Just picked up my truck last week. It has the paint protection package (hood & door) as a port installed option. From what I've read here I'm leaning towards a clay bar and then turtle tax ceramic application as my first detail. Can I apply on top of the film without issue or should I consider some other option until the film wears out later and I probably remove?

Also, when applying the Turtle Hybrid Ceramic spray, it says I can use my normal wash, is that true for the follow up wash/washes or should I be using their ceramic wash product?

I just clay bar about once a year, wax about twice a year and wash regularly but I park it in my garage and I have covered parking at work so the sun doesn’t beat it up too bad. Worked so far, paints still looks great for being 5.

Find a nice thin trail with some trees that have nice hard branches. Manzanitas work. Do the thing everyone new at offroading inevitably does, whether you're new to it or not, and misjudge the distance between the passenger side and said nice hard branches. Proceed to drive.

Enjoy your new freedom from the anxiety of the scratch.
